To become a better player in Call of Duty: Warzone, the first thing you should do is check your settings. Using data from the game's best players, we have put together the best Warzone controller settings for console and PC. These include aim assist, response curve and, of course, the best sensitivity settings for Warzone.
Aiming in any FPS (first-person shooter) is determined primarily by preferences and external factors such as controller type, so ultimately you should only use the settings that feel right to you. However, there are some universal rules you can use to maximize your in-game performance.
Along with our own in-game experience, we also compiled data from 13 of Warzone's best controller players in the game, such as Aydan, SuperEvan and Tommey.
Here are the best controller settings:
What Are the Best Sensitivity Settings for Warzone?
Whether you are on console or PC, beyond the traditional controller settings, there are four things any player who wants to improve the controller experience should turn off:
- Film Grain
- World Motion Blur
- Weapon Motion Blur
- Controller Vibration
While these settings are fine when playing through the story, they are an unnecessary distraction when you are trying to improve your game in Verdansk.
Want even more control over your settings? Keep reading to learn everything you need to know, from Deadzone to Use/Reload Behavior and ADS Multipliers.
Best Warzone Controller Aiming Settings
- Deadzone -----> 0.05
- Horizontal Sensitivity -----> 7
- Vertical Sensitivity -----> 7
- ADS Sensitivity Multiplier (Low Zoom) -----> 0.80
- ADS Sensitivity Multiplier (High Zoom) -----> 0.80
- Aim Response Curve Type -----> Dynamic
- Aim Assist -----> Standard
- Use/Reload Behavior -----> Contextual Tap
Best Warzone Controller Movement Settings
- Auto Move Forward -----> Disabled
- Slide Behavior -----> Tap
- Auto Tactical Sprint -----> Disabled
- Vehicle Camera Recenter -----> Enabled
- Parachute Auto Deploy -----> Auto Deploy
Although movement settings are mostly down to preference, the options above ensure you have full control to perform actions as quickly as possible while on the battlefield.
This is especially true for Slide Behavior, because simply tapping the button is much faster than the hold option and saves you seconds that are always valuable in a gunfight. It also opens up slide canceling, which can be a useful technique for finding out whether you want to gain more.
We also chose to set Auto Tactical Sprint to off. Automatically activating Tactical Sprint when moving forward while standing, and keeping it on, can give you much less control in situations where you may want to move a bit more stealthily.
Warzone ADS Sensitivity

Most players keep the ADS Sensitivity Multiplier at the default 1.0, but it is very important to play around with different settings. A low sensitivity is ideal for close-range weapons (such as submachine guns and assault rifles), while a higher setting is ideal for long-range weapons (such as marksman and sniper rifles).
It is also worth playing around with these settings individually. Although we suggest setting both anywhere between 0.80/0.90, you may prefer one setting slightly Low and the other High.
Warzone Horizontal and Vertical Sensitivity

Typical sensitivity settings range anywhere from 0-20, and the game's best controller players set their values to about 7.2 on average. Ideally, you may want to keep your sensitivities slightly higher than the default value of 5. However, you should know that things get harder as this value goes up.
Interestingly, you will notice that Newbz and SuperEvan do not use the same sensitivity for horizontal and vertical - these are exceptions, but proof that you should do whatever feels most natural to you.
Warzone Deadzone Settings
Deadzone is a setting used primarily to combat stick drift on your controller; it controls how far you need to move your analog stick for the game to register movement. If your crosshair drifts without you touching the stick, raise your Deadzone.
Most of the best players use the default Deadzone (0.05), but Biffle and Booya use 0.03 while SuperEvan and Zlaner use 0.2. While the average setting is 0.07, the sweet spot will ultimately depend on your controller.
Warzone Aim Assist and Response Curve Settings
The most useful and common settings we recommend for these are the Dynamic Aim Response Curve Type and Standard Aim Assist.
