- Cyberpunk 2077 offers three life paths for V: Corpo, Street Kid, and Nomad, each with its own starting point and prologue.
- Life path choice affects dialogue options, starting outfits, and which characters you meet, but not perks, leveling, or endings.
- Corpo starts in Night City's business district, Street Kid in Heywood, and Nomad in the desert region known as the Badlands.
When you start Cyberpunk 2077, you're faced with the decision of choosing one of three life paths: Corpo, Street Kid, and finally Nomad. These create a background identity for the main character V that changes the starting point of their story, the prologue, dialogue options, the characters they meet, and more, and your story begins.
Effects of Your Life Path Choice

- Starting point
- Prologue

Factors Your Life Path Choice Doesn't Affect

- Leveling up
- Attributes
- Romance options
- Game endings
What Are the Life Path Choices, and What Do They Mean?
Corpo
As the name suggests, the Corpo life path means surviving on your own while being surrounded by people who live entirely for money, power, and respect. Corpos begin their adventure in the heart of Night City's business district, also known as City Center, surrounded by the sleek, towering skyscrapers where executives hold their boardroom meetings. Corpos, who make up one percent of the population, know how to deal with people who've adopted this lifestyle and can use that knowledge to their advantage. It's worth noting that Corpos are the bad guys. They make up the core villains of the Cyberpunk game.

Street Kid
Street Kids make up the natives of Night City. Born and raised in Heywood, under the sharp shadows of Night City's neon-lit silhouette, street kids know the ins and outs of the city, where to find weapons and drugs, but most importantly, where to find illegal work. Starting V as a Street Kid gives us deep knowledge of the streets and gangs we mentioned.

Nomad
The Nomad life path revolves around a character who's a stranger to the city. Beginning their journey in the vast, desert-like region outside Night City called "The Badlands," Nomads are home to fierce, resourceful people who take pride in strong family dynamics, form clans, and function like small communities. Ostracized and marginalized in Night City's eyes, Nomads are perfect if you want to feel like you're seeing Night City for the first time. Choosing Nomads, who have no experience whatsoever with corporations or the streets, throws you into a brand new adventure.
