Diablo 4 Season 1: Season of the Malignant Start Date and Features (July 2023)

Diablo IV is designed as a live game that will evolve and expand in the coming years. Its long-term content plan begins with Diablo IV's first season, the Season of the Malignant, coming very soon.

Continuing the tradition of previous Diablo games, seasons give all players a fresh start on the Seasonal Journey with newly added features and game mechanics. On a level playing field, players can try the new classes and builds they are curious about, or journey through the season with their favorite classes/builds while checking out the season mechanics for new experiences. Since fame earned by exploring the map beforehand and the Altars of Lilith found are not erased, you do not need to start from scratch to level up a new character. The mount you unlock can also be used immediately on your new character. After each season ends, all characters are moved to the Eternal Realm, which players can access whenever they want.

What Are the Diablo 4 Season 1 Novelties?

• A New Adventure Awaits: A dangerous new threat lurks in the land in the form of Malignant monsters. Team up with the former priest Cormond to stop the spread of the Malignant at all costs.
• Fight the Infestation: Remove the corruption from Malignant Monsters, trap and destroy their Malignant Hearts, and socket those Hearts into your Rings and Amulets.
• No Experience Needed: After learning the basics, new players can jump straight into the season content and the new systems introduced, leap into the seasonal realms and play the main campaign. They can also progress through parts of the Seasonal Journey and the Battle Pass as they play. Ambitious players can create new characters throughout the Seasonal Journey and try them out with new builds or classes. Seasons offer a brand-new way to customize characters and increase their power as they take on the game's challenges.
• Seasonal Journey: This multi-chapter objective system rewards players as they complete each chapter. With a total of 7 Chapters, you can earn Favor from the rewards to progress in the Battle Pass.
• Battle Pass: Players earn rewards as they complete Battle Pass tiers. This can be done by playing the game normally and earning Favor, or by purchasing optional tier skips. The Battle Pass offers a free tier where everyone can earn Season Boosts to accelerate player progression. Players who choose to buy the paid tier can also earn exclusive Battle Pass skins.
