In Elden Ring, whether you are a melee or a ranged character, there are some weapons you should try. These weapons usually come equipped with a unique and powerful Ash of War and deal serious damage. They also usually look like real powerhouse weapons, whether in size or in style. The Dragonscale Blade is one such weapon in Elden Ring. In this article we explain how to get the Dragonscale Blade for you.

What Is the Dragonscale Blade?
The Dragonscale Blade is in the katana class, meaning it suits Dexterity and Strength characters better and scales with both of those stats. What makes this katana so unique and attractive is its Ash of War, called Ice Lightning Sword. This turns the blade into an icy nightmare for any enemy you meet in the Lands Between.
How Do You Get the Dragonscale Blade in Elden Ring?
To get the Dragonscale Blade, defeat the Dragonkin Soldier boss at the Lake of Rot, in the southwest corner of the lake; it rewards 58,000 Runes and the blade. To reach the Lake of Rot, you can go to the Nokstella Waterfall Basin Site of Grace. From here, head south along the small river until you reach the red lake infested with Scarlet Rot. The Lake of Rot will immediately trigger your Scarlet Rot gauge, so you will want to come prepared with at least 10 Preserving Boluses.

Use them, and head to the platforms in the lake to create more safe spots where the lake can't touch you. You can also pick up some high-level Somber Smithing Stones along the way.
The boss you are looking for in the lake is known as the Dragonkin Soldier, and it is in the southwest corner of the lake. To survive the fight, you need to press the pole to the boss's left. This will produce four platforms surrounding the boss and give you places to go to avoid the Scarlet Rot.

Once you raise the platforms, we recommend standing on the largest one to give yourself the most room to work. You can summon a Spirit Ash like Mimic Tear for this fight, which we also recommend. The Dragonkin Soldier is extremely aggressive and can flatten you if you get too close. Having something like Mimic Tear to distract the boss while you deal damage from the side or behind is the best strategy. If you are a sorcerer, stay back as far as possible and cast spells while your summons do the grunt work. If you manage to defeat the Dragonkin Soldier, you will be rewarded with 58,000 Runes and the Dragonscale Blade.
