The world-famous Grand Theft Auto series' newest installment, GTA VI, has been announced and made a huge splash across the gaming industry. Oyunfor General Manager Mehmet Dumanoğlu shared his thoughts on this major game, which is set to release in 2025.

What Innovations Does the GTA Series' Newest Game, GTA VI, Promise?

GTA VI, whose announcement had long been anticipated, was unveiled a few weeks ago with a trailer that drew massive attention. Rockstar Games had actually started a countdown, but hours before that countdown was due to end, the trailer leaked online, forcing the famous studio to move up its reveal. Rockstar Games hasn't shared much information beyond what was shown in the trailer, which has driven every gaming fan and outlet in the industry to speculate at length about the game.

According to Oyunfor General Manager Mehmet Dumanoğlu, what's shown in the GTA VI trailer and what the game promises are extremely encouraging. Of course, we've seen plenty of game trailers with top-tier visuals before, only to find a lower graphical quality once the game actually released, but having a studio as skilled as Rockstar Games behind the game is a sign that it will be visually cutting-edge — just as GTA V was.

Even though we could choose one of four different female characters in the original GTA game, ever since GTA III put the GTA name on the map, the three-dimensional games that followed always featured male characters in the lead role. GTA VI breaks that tradition by putting an ambitious, bold female character named Lucia in the lead. Mehmet Dumanoğlu believes this choice will shift the game's atmosphere and give it a fresh look.

GTA VI will take place in the state of Leonida, in a large region that will include Vice City. Clearly inspired down to the last detail by the state of Florida, this region will make people living in America in particular feel right at home. The game leans so heavily into this American theme that many of the posts shown in the trailer from a TikTok-like social media platform are based on real events that happened in Florida. Based on what we've seen in the trailer, we can also say social media use — one of the biggest addictions of recent years — will appear in the game in some form.

Mehmet Dumanoğlu also weighed in on the fact that GTA VI will release for consoles first. Noting that Rockstar Games set a similar strategy for GTA V, Dumanoğlu believes GTA VI could make it to PC in a somewhat shorter timeframe this time. This is partly due to the fact that GTA Online, GTA's online mode, is also played heavily by PC players.

Since we still have very little information about the game, it's hard to make bold statements or confident predictions, but it wouldn't be wrong to expect Rockstar Games to deliver a game even more solid than GTA V…
