When you're not busy researching or farming, Harvestella gives you the option to build personal relationships with your townspeople. The romance system may not be as intricate as the combat or story, but there are still a few restrictions you should know about.

How Does Romance Work in Harvestella?

Romance in Harvestella is simple. Instead of a standard marriage, romance culminates in a "partnership" event that lets an NPC come live with you on your farm. To trigger the partnership event, you'll need to raise your closeness with your romantic interest. This is done by completing their corresponding Character Story (marked on your map with a blue indicator) and fulfilling requests from your party members.

Maxing out your closeness with another character is the first major requirement toward a partnership — you'll also need to complete the main story. Once those tasks are out of the way, romance in Harvestella will be fully available to you. Keep in mind that romance in Harvestella isn't very intense or flirtatious, and is instead focused more on building trust and forming a strong bond.

What Are the Romance Options in Harvestella?

Not everyone you meet in Harvestella is a romance option. There are only a handful of eligible singles. Keep in mind — you'll need to complete each Character Story before you have the option to trigger the partnership event, so it's worth starting each character's quest chain as early as possible. Fortunately, Harvestella doesn't have any time-limited events, so no matter when you start or finish a Character Story, you won't miss any content. This makes them a great way to break up the main story, or if you start getting tired of your farm chores.

• Aria (Bird's Eye Brae): Aria, a mysterious traveler who may have come from the future, quickly gets swept up in your adventures.
• Istina (Nemea Town): Can be found running the town's orphanage before getting caught up in your quest to save the world.
• Asyl (Nemea Town): Introduced during an early quest, Asyl is a warrior fighting to protect his town from a nearby monster invasion.
• Shrika (Argene): A member of the religious Seaslight Order who has mastered combat thanks to deadly blades of light.
• Emo (Shatolla): A singer who takes on the Woglinde Job during combat at a local tavern.
• Heine (Shatolla): An eccentric inventor from Shatolla who plays the Mechanic Job during combat.

What Is the Romance Restriction in Harvestella?

There are no romance restrictions based on your character's gender, giving you the freedom to pursue any eligible romantic interest. Keep in mind that you'll need to clear the main story to unlock the partnership event, but aside from that restriction, there's not much stopping you from bonding with another character.
