Hogwarts Legacy: Release Date, Features and Characters

Hogwarts Legacy is getting a special PlayStation State of Play event tomorrow. Sony said the show will run for 20 minutes and include more than 14 minutes of PS5 gameplay, in short offering "an in-depth look at Hogwarts Legacy." So what else do we know about Hogwarts Legacy? Is a release date known yet? What will its features and gameplay be like? Who are the characters?

When Is Hogwarts Legacy Coming Out? Could It Arrive Soon?

There's no exact date for the game yet. However, we can expect to see the game again in April, and we also believe details on the matter will be given at the PlayStation State of Play event. We'll let you know as soon as a date is announced. It's also coming to platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and PC.

What Are Hogwarts Legacy's Features?

The first important thing to know is that Hogwarts Legacy will not be a direct adaptation of the books and films. However, just like the films and books, it will center on the wizarding world. Staying partly faithful to the Harry Potter universe, you'll play as a student attending the famous school of witchcraft and wizardry in the 1800s. That means the story unfortunately won't feature Harry Potter's beloved characters Harry, Ron or Hermione, since it takes place hundreds of years before Harry Potter is even born. Your goal is to uncover a hidden truth about the wizarding world, and to do so you'll set off on an extremely dangerous journey. Since the game is an open-world title, there will be many places to explore around the castle. Some of these locations include:

• Hogwarts Castle: Hogwarts Castle is the place we spend the most time in throughout the films and books, and its Great Hall was shown in the announcement trailer.
• Hogsmeade Village: Another location seen in the trailer is Hogsmeade Village, which has several local shops.
• The Forbidden Forest: The Forbidden Forest, where battles against dark wizards take place, is also among the locations.

While there isn't much information about the characters yet, the following creatures are known to appear in the game.
