How Do You Unlock the Welgun in CoD: Vanguard and Warzone?

Call of Duty Season 1 Reloaded is now live for both Vanguard and Warzone. This new mid-season update added the Welgun submachine gun to Vanguard's weapon arsenal, and there are a few different ways to unlock it.

How Do You Unlock the Welgun in CoD: Warzone and Vanguard?

The Welgun is described as a heavy, full-auto submachine gun with range, deadly in short- and mid-range fights. The weapon can be unlocked for free with an in-game challenge in multiplayer, Zombies or Warzone. It can also be purchased for 1,200 COD Points, or about $12, in the Reserve Steel cosmetic bundle. This bundle comes with the Heliox weapon blueprint for the Welgun, a battle pass tier skip and five small cosmetic items.

CoD Multiplayer Challenge

In multiplayer, you need to get 10 kills with an SMG while aiming, across fifteen matches. If you leave a match early, it won't track your progress, so this has to be done in fifteen completed matches. This will be best completed in the fastest multiplayer matchmaking options or in smaller map playlists like Ship Haus 24/7.

CoD Zombies Challenge

For Zombies, you need to get five quick critical kills with an SMG on 50 different portal objectives. This is basically getting quick kills while doing any of Der Anfang's objectives, so it is fairly simple, but completing 50 different objectives is time-consuming.

CoD Warzone Challenge

To unlock this weapon in Warzone, you need to get 10 ADS kills with SMGs across fifteen matches. Getting kills while aiming down sights is not too hard, but in battle royale not everyone can get ten kills per match. This may be easiest if attempted in a respawn mode like Plunder or Rebirth Resurgence. Like multiplayer, if you quit the match early your progress won't count, so this has to be done in fifteen completed matches. How you choose to complete this challenge mostly depends on your game mode preference, but the fastest way to unlock the Welgun for free overall is Vanguard's multiplayer challenge.
