Jinx and Jayce Get a Visual Update in League of Legends

League of Legends champions Jinx and Jayce are getting a massive VFX - visual effects update that makes their character models and abilities clearer and more refined, alongside new Arcane-themed skins.

With the release date of League's new anime Netflix show Arcane rapidly approaching, Riot has updated Jinx and Jayce's animations and visual effects. While the developer has often changed their abilities, this change appears to be purely visual.

Both Jinx and Jayce have key roles in the new Netflix show, and with all eyes directly on them, now's the perfect time to give a VFX update to characters that are nearly a decade old. Don't you agree?

Jinx VFX Update

• Jinx is getting a VFX update that improves the visual quality of her moves. As seen above, her ultimate ability, 'Super Mega Death Rocket!', is now represented by a bigger rocket as well as a bigger explosion on impact, making it easier to spot.
• Her Q ability, "Switcheroo!", which swaps her auto-attacks between her minigun and rocket launcher, has had its rocket launcher auto-attacks changed from a smoky effect to now have more of a yellow blast.
• Jinx's W move, "Zap!", now has more visual clarity with an indicator beneath it showing the ability's hitbox.
• Her E ability, 'Flame Chompers!', has also been updated to improve readability. There will now be light blue circles beneath them to show where enemies could get rooted.

Jayce VFX Update

• In Mercury Cannon form, his Q ability, 'Shock Blast', has a bigger and clearer animation, along with a new animation for the electricity around the weapon.
• His melee form, Mercury Hammer, also has new effects. The Q ability now has a bigger electrical burst when it lands on its target.
• Jayce's W ability now gives off a deeper yellow color with a more pronounced ring of energy radiating around him.
