What Are the Main Changes to NBA 2K21 MyPlayer?

Players have wanted a better character creator for years, and 2K seems to have taken that feedback to heart. Some of the new features in NBA 2K21 MyPlayer include:

• New MyPlayer character creator.
• Multiple badge changes and additions.
• 24 new Takeovers.

Above all, the development team completely overhauled the MyPlayer creator for the next-gen versions of NBA 2K21. The pie charts, as seen below, were reworked into something players will enjoy more.

What Are the New MyPlayer Features in NBA 2K21?

There are still limits based on your character's body type, but you can now choose the cap given to each individual stat yourself.

Several badges were reworked. Some old favorites are making a comeback, while others were changed or left out. Some of the new badge additions coming to MyPlayer mode include:

• Circus Threes - the ability to hit threes off step-backs and fadeaways.
• Hot Shot - the ability to knock down last-second shots from long range.
• Sniper - the ability to find a 100% chance to hit while aiming with the shot meter.
• Stop & Pop Three - the ability to hit threes coming off of transition offense. (like JJ Redick does)
• Bullet Passer - gives you the ability to fire passes into sharp, unbelievable spots like LeBron James, essentially rifling the ball in.

After unlocking all of your badges, there's also an addition that lets you get the Mamba Mentality badge, which lets you swap your badge setup whenever you want.

What Are the New "Takeovers" in NBA 2K21?

These are some of the new "Takeovers" you'll be able to pick from in NBA 2K21's next-gen MyPlayer builder:

• Advanced Gathers - unlocks more effective spins, euro steps, hop steps, and through-the-legs moves.
• Finishing Moves - lets you finish through contact even after taking a hit.
• Easy Blowbys - boosts slashers' ability to blow by defenders easily while dribbling.
• Pull-Up Precision - boosts well-timed/well-aimed jump shots outside of dribble moves.
• Anklebreaking Shots - boosts the ability to shake up the opposing defender and hit a shot after, as they say, breaking their ankles.
• Negative Impact – reduces the defensive effect against shots and other skill moves.

What's the NBA 2K21 Neighborhood Like?

NBA 2K21 fans had been waiting for news about the new online MyPlayer modes. NBA 2K recently gave detailed information about gameplay changes, WNBA MyPlayer, and player customization.

The new location was simply named "The City."

The City has four boroughs, complete with mayors and even rival affiliations. Those affiliations are as follows:

• North Side Knights
• South City Vipers
• Beasts of the East
• Western Wildcats

What's Different About the NBA 2K21 Neighborhood?

The trailer shows that the next-gen NBA 2K21 City will feature a ridiculous number of basketball courts to play on. Alongside the usual themed courts, these include rentable courts, a black Mamba court themed around Kobe, and a skyscraper with different courts on every floor.

Pro-Am and the training facility are still there. Several new stores are also included, among them Jordan and Converse brand shops.
