New World is a brand-new MMO in which you have to fight and explore a lot to survive in a world inspired by colonial America. In a game where you progress by gathering resources, crafting items and taking control of territories, exploring the world Amazon created can be challenging for players just starting out.
As with every new game, fully learning it can take time, and it is true that there is a ton of information most players need to learn. The questions players ask most often are: What classes are there in New World? or What weapons are there?
To put an end to this confusion, our guide covers and examines what people want to know about the classes, weapons, factions and attributes of the world of New World.
What Classes Are There in New World?
What Factions Are There in New World?
There are three factions in New World, and they form the basis of its PvP system. The faction you have to choose after reaching a certain level determines which flag you fight under. At this point, you encounter three different Factions fighting for supremacy over the land of Aeternum. Each has a unique vision for this new land. After deciding which faction you will fight for, you can earn tokens by doing that faction's quests, and with these tokens you can get unique armor and weapons. These factions are:
The Marauders
The Marauders value strength above all else. They intend to create a nation free of restrictive rules. Instead, they let your fighting ability and power determine your own worth. Under the Marauders, the strong become leaders of settlements and rule with an iron fist, while the weak will be trampled underfoot.
The Syndicate
Lurking in the shadows, the Syndicate are made up of thinkers, philosophers and thieves. They embrace the dark side of humanity and venture into the unknown to return with long-forgotten secrets. They aim to bring a new age of enlightenment to all humanity and will stop at nothing to reach their goals.
The Covenant
The Covenant are fanatical templars devoted to their faith. They want to bring their Covenant religion to everyone in Aeternum. Obsessed with truth, justice and righteousness, they plan to cleanse their world of heretics and unbelievers at any cost.
What Do Attributes Do in New World?
The base attribute points we are used to from most MMO games exist in New World too. These points, which serve to develop our character, are divided into 5 categories:
- Strength
- Dexterity
- Intelligence
- Focus
- Constitution
Our character gains these points as it levels up, and these points contain certain properties. Each of these point types lets us master a particular weapon type as its primary effect, while some also provide bonuses as a secondary effect. This way, by focusing on a single point type, we can give our character extra mastery.
Strength
- Warhammer
- Great Axe
- Sword
- Hatchet
Secondary effect:
- Affects the Spear.
Dexterity
- Bow
- Rapier
- Spear
- Affects the Musket.
As a secondary effect:
- It has an effect on the Sword and Hatchet. However, these effects are not as strong.
Intelligence
- Fire
- Ice
As a secondary effect:
- Affects the Rapier and Musket.
Focus
- Only affects the Life Staff.
Constitution
- Only affects the Health value.
When distributing all of these attribute points, you need to have a specific strategy and stick to it. When customizing your character, you should choose the 2 weapons that suit you best and distribute your attribute points accordingly. If you want balanced mastery for each weapon, you can distribute your attribute points evenly, or you can focus on just one value to master a single weapon.
