Sony's New, Lighter PS5 Model Explained

Sony Interactive Entertainment has begun offering users an easier-to-attach-stand, lighter PS5. This new model, numbered CFI-11XX, went on sale in Australia at the same price.

Press Start, an Australia-based gaming site, reported that while the PS5 stand previously needed a screwdriver to attach, a new screw added in this model lets it be attached by hand. The new model, offered only for the disc version and weighing 3.3 kg, measured 300 grams lighter than the original PS5.

Australia was the first country to receive stock of the revised PS5 models. The new PS5 model's arrival date in Türkiye still remains unclear.
