What Are the Latest PS5 Update Features?
PS Remote Play Support on Additional Android Devices

- Starting today, the PS Remote Play app will be available on devices running Android TV OS 12.
- The devices verified so far are:
- Chromecast with Google TV (4K model)
- BRAVIA XR A95L model
- To use Remote Play on these devices, search for the PS Remote Play app on your Android device and download and install the app.

- Note: Voice Command (Preview) is currently available in English for PS5 players with accounts registered in the US and UK.
New Accessibility Features
- Use a Second Controller for Assistance. You can now assign a second controller to an account as an assist controller and use two controllers to operate your PS5 console as if you were using a single controller.
- This feature offers a new way to enjoy games cooperatively with others or to help a friend or child get through a particularly challenging part of a game.
- To use an assist controller, go to [Settings] > [Accessibility] > [Controllers] > [Use Second Controller for Assistance] and then turn on [Use Assist Controller].
- You can use the assist controller when your main controller is a DualSense or DualSense Edge wireless controller or a third-party controller supported by PS5.
System UI Haptic Feedback
- You now have the option to turn on haptic feedback effects when navigating on your PS5 with your DualSense controller, DualSense Edge controller or PS VR2 Sense controller.
- When enabled, system sound effects for certain events, moving the focus, reaching the last limit of a scrollable section, checking a box, or receiving a notification or launching a game will also be physically reflected through haptics.
- This optional feature increases immersion in the game and is especially useful for players who have a certain level of visual or hearing impairment and appreciate additional feedback about their inputs.
- To turn this feature on, go to [Settings] > [Accessibility] > [Controllers] and then turn on [Haptic Feedback When Navigating the Console].
Support for Compatible Dolby Atmos-Enabled Audio Devices
- 3D Audio powered by Tempest 3D AudioTech can now also be used by those with compatible Dolby Atmos-enabled HDMI devices such as soundbars, TVs or home theater systems.
- Tempest 3D AudioTech provides an even higher level of immersion in the audio environments of PS5 games by specifically processing the Dolby Atmos audio device in use, including the height channels.
- To turn on Dolby Atmos, go to [Settings] > [Sound] > [Audio Output] > [Audio Format (Priority)] and then select [Dolby Atmos].
Party UI Update
- You can now invite a player to a closed party without automatically adding them to the group or creating a new group.
- In addition, players will now be able to send open or closed party invitations to groups rather than just individual players.
Screen Preview Sharing
- When someone shares their screen in a group you can also join, you will now see a preview image of that person's Share Screen even before you enter the party.
Join Your Friends' Game Sessions
- You can now easily see which of your friends are in an activity you can join under the [Friends] tab.
- A Joinable icon will be displayed next to friends who are playing a game you can join.
- You can directly join a friend's game by pressing the options button and selecting [Join Game] or by selecting the "Join" button on the profile card.
