Chinese tech giant Tencent announced on Thursday that PUBG Mobile, its mobile battle royale game, has surpassed 1 billion downloads outside China, making it one of the most successful games in the world.

According to data analytics firm Sensor Tower, based on the latest download figures, only Kiloo Games' Subway Surfers and King Digital Entertainment's Candy Crush Saga rank ahead of it.
Tencent, the world's biggest video game company by revenue, also owns another battle royale game that's hugely popular in China, called Peacekeeper Elite.
