Redfall 30 FPS Problem: Can It Be Fixed? (May 2023)

Redfall launched today on Xbox Series X and S and PC. The game, which is mostly getting negative reviews, is currently seen as Arkane Studios' worst launch. Because the game, which arrived with many problems at launch, is locked at 30 fps, there are various performance problems on Xbox consoles. So can this problem be fixed? Did Players Dislike Redfall?

Redfall is the latest game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. Players can experience the open-world first-person shooter alone or through multiplayer co-op. In the game we can choose one of the playable characters, each with their own unique skills and mechanics. The goal is to use those skills to fight the rising vampire threat that has befallen the town of Redfall, Massachusetts.

As in most fast-paced shooters, having a good frame rate helps improve a game's overall feel. It was revealed earlier that Redfall would reach 30 fps on Xbox consoles, including the more powerful Xbox Series X. Considering that the general expectation for new AAA games is 60 fps, it is easier to understand why the game disappointed players.

How Do You Fix the Redfall 30 FPS Problem?

Unfortunately, there is no way yet to fix the 30 FPS problem in the game. Arkane Studios announced that it plans to bring 60 fps to console players, but the timeframe for this remains uncertain. On the matter, the comment was made that "a 60 FPS Performance mode will be added with a game update at a later date." So at launch, Redfall stays at 30 fps regardless of the settings. We think the game received mostly negative reviews from critics because of this and similar problems.
