Rocket League Sideswipe Release Date and Price

Great news for Rocket League fans; the mobile version of the game you love playing on PC and console has officially been announced for iOS and Android devices.

Rocket League Mobile Is Coming

However, this new version will play a bit differently from the PC and console experience.

Even though Rocket League has grown massively in popularity since its 2015 launch, this move came after the game's loyal player base kept asking for it to expand to more platforms.

Epic and Psyonix showed they want to bring the Rocket League experience to even more platforms by announcing a shortened version of the classic game as a brand-new mobile title coming to iOS and Android, called Rocket League: Sideswipe. Let's take a look at the new game mode and how it plays.

What Is Rocket League Sideswipe?

While this marks the series' first entry into mobile, the first thing that stands out is how different the gameplay is from the console experience.

Players will compete in 2-minute 1v1 or 2v2 matches (both casual and ranked play will be included at launch), which means Sideswipe will feel a bit more condensed compared to the full game. That said, even in this different format, moves like aiming and dodging will still be part of the experience.

Players will also be able to customize their cars just like they normally would. Epic Games hasn't yet said whether players' car designs from console and PC will be able to transfer over to Sideswipe.

Rocket League Sideswipe Gameplay

Psyonix also gave hints about the game's early gameplay through the Alpha trailer you just watched, giving players a rough idea of what to expect from the mobile version.

Unfortunately, the Alpha trailer is only 40 seconds long, but there's no doubt we'll see more detailed trailers from the developers as the game's release gets closer.

Rocket League Sideswipe Release Date and Price?

Unfortunately, there's still no confirmed release date for the mobile game. Psyonix has hinted the game could launch in 2021, but beyond that estimate, we don't have much else to go on.

Since most mobile games today launch free-to-play, we expect Rocket League Sideswipe to be offered for free as well.
