Absolver's developer Sloclap's new fighting game, Sifu, managed to grab all the attention at the State of Play showcase. This third-person action game, full of close-quarters combat, offers players interested in martial arts a genuinely gripping story.

Sifu's Story and Gameplay Mechanics

Sifu recently had its premiere during Sony's State of Play showcase. Developed by indie studio Sloclap, Sifu is a third-person action game in which players use a range of martial arts techniques to fight off enemy attacks across various settings. Our protagonist is a young Kung-fu student who has dedicated himself to revenge. After his family was killed by an unknown enemy, he spends 8 years dedicating himself to that revenge and begins learning the ancient teachings of Kung-Fu. When the day he has been waiting for finally arrives, our character's fate is in our hands. You feel Kung-Fu's core teaching, constant learning, so beautifully in the game that when our character dies, he is revived through a magic amulet as an older man, and both your skills and your combos keep improving throughout the game. Technically very rich, SIFU also looks just as demanding mechanically! Careful positioning and clever use of your surroundings are the keys to survival. Use everything at your disposal: throwable objects, improvised weapons, windows and ledges... The rest is up to you!
