Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Announced

Bearing BioWare's signature, beloved by many players and holding some of the biggest popularity among RPGs, the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was announced at the Playstation Showcase event. This time, however, the studio developing the Star Wars title isn't BioWare, but Aspyr Studios.

Aspyr has previously worked on many Star Wars games. They brought Jedi Knight and Jedi Outcast to Switch and PlayStation platforms, and even brought KOTOR to iOS devices. Aspyr Studios' lead producer Ryan Treadwell said, "We want to bring groundbreaking innovations for both new players and longtime fans in the most modern version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic's remake," adding, "That's why, while we're building the game from the ground up with the latest technology, we're staying true to its respected story."

The game's release date and which platforms it will launch on have become a topic of curiosity.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Story

KOTOR takes place in the early years of the Galactic Republic, 4,000 years before the beginning of the Galactic Empire. As a member of the Jedi, players travel the galaxy to defeat a Sith lord. There's also a role-playing system that lets players follow either the light side or the dark side of the Force.

Release Date

There's no firm information yet on the release date of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which was unveiled on September 9. However, you can be sure we'll keep this article updated as news comes in.
