TFT Set 8.5 Release Date and Changes

The first half of TFT, TFT Set 8.5, will come to an end with the launch of Set 8.5 in March. Players around the world will finish off TFT's Eighth Set with tournaments like the Asia Cup and the North America Set Mid Finals, played on Patch 3.14 from March 3-5. Only the second EMEA Golden Spatula Cup will be playable on Patch 13.5, the patch on which players will be able to start testing Set 8.5 changes on the PBE. So when is TFT Set 8.5 coming out?

TFT Set 8.5 Release Date

After the Mid-Set changes hit the PBE via Patch 13.5 on March 8, players will have two weeks to test the Set 8.5 changes before its official launch via Patch 13.6 on March 22.

TFT Set 8.5: What's New?

No changes have been announced for TFT Set 8.5. Patch 13.3 introduced a major system change to Set Eight's Hero Augments, increasing the number of times players can reroll for an Augment that fits their build. The TFT balance team has rolled out numerous balance changes to the set's core mechanic, confirming that Hero Augments won't see any changes in Set 8.5. Most Mid-Set balance changes typically remove traits and champions that are too hard to balance or don't fit the new set's theme, while adding a handful of new traits and around 20 champions.
