WWE 2K22 MyGM mode is a feature players have waited years for since it was last released in 2008, and it has finally arrived this year! When details about what WWE 2K22 would offer began to spread, perhaps no other announcement was greeted with as much excitement as the return of MyGM and General Manager Mode. MyGM, which became hugely popular between 2006 and 2008, is back with us this year! We have prepared a guide to MyGM mode and written down what it takes to beat the rival GM!

In MyGM, you go up against another GM (and show) to see who can draw the most viewers to their own show within a set period of time. In the previous GM mode, dropped in 2008, that period was a full calendar year ending at WrestleMania. In this year's MyGM, we have several options, again ending at WrestleMania, with the shortest season at 15 weeks and the longest at 50 weeks
You build a roster of the available wrestlers and can sign free agents. Your main goal is simply to earn viewers, so you should collect the best superstars you can draw to your show!

How Do You Choose a GM in WWE 2K22 MyGM Mode?

  • Adam Pearce: Adam Pearce, whose special power is Instigator, runs RAW and Smackdown in real life together with Sonya Deville. With his Instigator power, he can add +1 power to ongoing rivalries.
  • Sonya Deville: Playing a somewhat more villainous character next to Pearce, Sonya has the special power A Superstar’s GM. It can raise the morale of her roster by +15.
  • William Regal: Thanks to William Regal's Legend Whisperer special power, you can add your first legend to your roster completely for free!
  • Shane McMahon: With this GM, whose special power is Coast to Coast (one of Shane's signature moves), you can involve the GM in shows and draw plenty of viewers with it!
  • Stephanie McMahon: With The McMahon Presence (although Shane is also a McMahon, he doesn't have this), you can use Stephanie's special power to multiply the revenue you earn from a show by 2!
  • Created Superstar: You can also use a superstar you created yourself as your GM. If you do, since you're just starting out in the game, you will be able to raise the popularity of your least popular wrestler by 20 points!

How Does the Draft Work in WWE 2K22 MyGM Mode?

The last thing we will cover today is the draft system. If you don't know it, here is the explanation: "All the wrestlers are gathered in a shared pool, and the GMs take turns trying to pick the ones who will make their shows better."
This draft has eight mandatory rounds. After the eighth round, you can continue drafting with your allotted $2.75 million pool. Each wrestler has a separate price, style, chemistry, stamina and popularity that can affect your show. To make things a bit easier for you, the game gives you the first pick no matter which show you choose, and this means your pick will always come first in every round. So the picks go A-B-A-B-A-B, which means you can easily build a roster that beats the rival GM! Now, as for the draft pool, you may notice that not every wrestler is there. If you notice that someone you want to pick and add to your roster is missing, exit and try again. The draft pool refreshes with every attempt, and perhaps a new update will fix this issue.

How Do You Make the Best Draft in MyGM?

Here are some tips for building the best roster and gaining an advantage:
  • Of the five styles – Bruiser, Fighter, Giant, Cruiserweight and Specialist – it is recommended to draft only the first four. When paired together (Bruiser and Fighter, Giant and Cruiserweight), you get a match rating bonus for their free styles. Wrestlers classified as Specialist are good too, but unfortunately they don't have a second style that we can pair them with to get a match rating bonus :(
  • Pick an equal number of good characters (faces) and bad characters (heels), and make sure you have enough of each for them to enter rivalries. Also try to pick an even number of men and women
  • Don't pick only the top stars! Look at the bottom of the list, and in the first two or three rounds, give a chance to wrestlers you see potential in alongside the top stars!
  • Still, if you want to make things easier for yourself, you can make safe picks! Try to spend your first two or three picks on the most popular superstars and divas you can draft.
