Best League of Legends Teams of 2020: DAMWON, G2 and Suning

Best LoL Teams of 2020

We have left behind a year that will never be forgotten. Although most sports events were canceled because of the Covid-19 pandemic, League of Legends, the leader of the esports sector, did not stop its tournaments. Although players were upset at not being able to step onto the big stage and enjoy esports in the atmosphere of crowds, the fact that competitive tournaments and matches could continue was a great source of joy for viewers. Let's take a look together at the most successful League of Legends teams of 2020.

• DAMWON Gaming

It will not have surprised any of you that DAMWON Gaming is at the very top of the list. DAMWON Gaming, the 2020 Worlds champion, achieved this with an incredibly dominant performance. The team, which managed to build a squad with players such as Nuguri, Canyon and ShowMaker, who can be considered the best in the world in their positions, had no trouble running from success to success.

Although DAMWON took an early loss by finishing the Spring Split playoffs in 5th place, they made a completely different kind of achievement in the Summer Split. Taking only 2 losses in total, they managed to become LCK champions. They capped their bad start with an incredible comeback. The Worlds stage was no different from the Summer Split. The team, which gained a crushing advantage over every opponent it faced, managed to take the trophy to Korea.

• G2 Esports

Although not as good as they were in 2019, 2020 was a great year for the G2 Esports team. They fell below expectations with the best players in the EU. With the match losses they took in the playoffs to MAD Lions and Fnatic, they disappointed their fans. Although they made a bad start, the team's experience and talent brought them back from this defeat and carried them all the way to becoming LEC champions. Finally, they said goodbye to the big tournament by being eliminated by the champion team DAMWON Gaming at Worlds 2020.

Although losing Perkz, one of the team's best players for a long time, was a shock to us, signing former Fnatic player Rekkles managed to take the team one step back and two steps forward.

• Suning

Although it does not have a star-studded roster like the other teams on the list, the Suning team managed to win hearts with its performance in 2020. In every match they faced in the group they were the underdog, but with the wins they took they managed to prove otherwise again and again. Although they lost to JDG and TES in the 2020 Summer Split, at Worlds they managed to eliminate both teams from the tournament with only 1 defeat. They surprised all viewers by rising to face DAMWON in the final. Although they could not become champions at the end of the day, they managed to be among the biggest winners of 2020.
