How Do You Register for the CS2 (CS:GO 2) Beta?

Players are selected for the beta based on a range of factors considered important by the Counter-Strike 2 development team, including recent playtime on Valve's official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing. If you want to take part in the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test, you'll get a notification in CS:GO's main menu. If you receive an invite, you can select "SIGN UP" and start the download. Once the download is complete, all you need to do is launch CS:GO and select the "Limited Test" option to play the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test. Also, more players will be added to the Limited Test over time. You can check your CS:GO main menu to see whether you've gotten an invite.

What Are the Features of the CS2 (Counter-Strike 2) Beta Version?

• Smoke Grenade Changes: Smokes will now expand more naturally, reacting to in-game events like bullets and grenades and to lighting changes.
• Sub-Tick System: Player movement, grenade trajectories, and fired shots are no longer tracked on a separate tick system. These actions are now tracked the moment they happen. This means the game will always be consistent no matter the tick rate.
• Map Overhauls: Maps like Overpass, Dust2, Mirage, Nuke, and others have been rebuilt from the ground up to take advantage of Source 2's lighting and rendering features.
• High-Resolution Visual Effects: The UI, gameplay, lighting, particles, and more have gotten a major overhaul to bring Counter-Strike into the new generation.
• Accurate Sound: The Sound Engine has been rebalanced and updated to bring better audio to the game.
• A new crosshair feature called Follow Recoil has also been added to the game.

While the Limited Test is running, you'll only be able to keep playing with and against other players on the same version of Counter-Strike as you. So here's how it will work: Counter-Strike 2 players will play with and against other Counter-Strike 2 players. CS:GO players will play with and against other CS:GO players.

The CS2 Major is expected to take place next year, from March 17-31. PGL Major Copenhagen will be PGL's fourth Major in its history, after Kraków 2017, Stockholm 2021, and Antwerp 2022.
