How to Fix CS:GO FPS Drops

First, let's note that the issue causing FPS in CS:GO to drop from 300 to 100 can stem from your graphics card. This means either your graphics drivers are outdated, or your in-game settings aren't configured correctly. Some causes of FPS drops include:

• Background applications
• Startup applications
• Server connection problems
• Malicious software
• Installed programs

To fix the FPS drop issue:

Use the CS:GO FPS Drop Command

• Find "Game Settings" in the options.
• Enable the console. (~)
• Reopen the game and press the tilde key (~).
• In the console on your screen, type logaddress_add 1 and press Enter.

Change Your Graphics Settings

We mentioned this setting in a previous article too. Changing your graphics settings will help a great deal with the FPS drop issue.

• Open CS:GO and go to Settings.
• Then click Options > Video Settings > Advanced Video Options.
• Set these features to low: Shadow Quality, Model / Texture Detail, Effect Detail, Shader Detail.
• After doing this, you can save your changes and restart the game.

Disable Game DVR on Xbox

• Press Win + I to open settings.
• Click on CS:GO.
• On the left, click "Captures," then disable "Background Recording."

Disable Google Chrome

• If you're playing the game while Chrome is open, it will cause FPS drop issues, so we recommend disabling Chrome. That's because Chrome uses a large amount of resources that can take over your computer.
