Diablo 4 had a rocky start in the gaming world, and the community made their entire wish list for improving the game's future known to Blizzard. Blizzard has started taking steps on this front, and the arrival of Season of Blood was a major win for the game.

The latest season was well received by fans thanks to its revamped leveling experience and changes to dungeon layouts. While there are still some areas that badly need improvement, the game is currently in a recovery phase. So, when will the next expansion, Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred, arrive?

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Expansion Release Date

Unfortunately, the new expansion isn't planned to release until late 2024. The expansion is expected to arrive later next year.

The confirmed details for Vessel of Hatred line up very well with the leaks that dropped earlier this year. Among them, the return of Mephisto was confirmed under the name Lord of Hatred, and it was confirmed that the expansion's setting is Kurast, near the Torajan jungles. Both Mephisto and Kurast are returning fan favorites from the second game. Fans are also predicting that the new class will be Spiritborn, revolving around nature and the natural world. On top of that, there's talk that the game may get a new D&D-style mercenary system that would let players hire NPCs to help on their adventures.

However, as we mentioned earlier, it looks like Diablo players will need to wait at least a year to experience what Vessel of Hatred has to offer. Until this expansion releases, Blizzard appears set to keep things going with seasonal content.
