July 26 2023 – Windsor – After five months and a series of qualifying rounds, the best eFootball™ players from around the world came together in Tokyo, Japan for the eFootball™ Championship Open World Finals.
Over the weekend of July 22-23, the best mobile and console players fought fiercely for the championship.
After the qualifying rounds, El_Mysterio and UDI took the champion titles on mobile and console, respectively, and both players earned $10,000 in prize money to take home for their success.
eFootball Championship Open World All Results
After five different qualifying rounds, players, 8 on mobile and 16 on console, gathered at the esports Ginza studio in Tokyo in a reworked, offline format to become the champion of their platform.
In the console category, 16 players were divided into 4 groups of 4, and the best player of each group advanced to the Semifinals. These included ZEUS_ELGACOR, Zilo, FRANKINO and the eventual champion UDI. In the final, the Japanese player UDI beat Zilo 3-2 with an incredible performance.
In the mobile category, there were only two groups of four, and the top two of each group qualified for the Semifinals. El_Mysterio first finished second in the group that LaCasAA won. However, the two met again in the Final, where the Brazilian player managed to win the match and the championship with a superb penalty kick.

From team victories to individual awards
Ten players from the eFootball™ Championship Pro, including MeroMen of FC Internazionale and FRANKINO of AC Milan, competed for individual titles in the PlayStation® (console) category. MeroMen's tournament journey ended in the Group Stages, while Frankino topped his group but lost to Zilo in the Semifinals. Including these players in the tournament helped put into context the levels set by the players talented enough to reach the World Finals.

Mobile category winner El_Mysterio said the following about the World Finals: "I am very emotional, I can't believe it. I was thinking of very different things at that moment. Console category winner UDI spoke about the final match: 'Zilo was pretty strong! It was a really tough match, and it got even tougher when we tied in the 2nd half. Luck helped me score the 3rd goal.
