Epic Games Free Games: January 2023 Lineup

Epic Games Store is entering its fifth year this year and keeps giving free games to its users. Last year's offerings were a versatile mix of smaller indie gems and item packs for various free-to-play games. This year's games, meanwhile, have been coming to light little by little. Dishonored: Definitive Edition (December 29-January 5)

Dishonored: Definitive Edition includes Arkane Studios' acclaimed 2012 immersive sim along with all of its post-launch content. Whether you help the supernatural assassin Corvo Attano get his revenge or follow the adventures of Daud, another skilled killer, you're free to decide how you approach every mission!

Eximius: Seize the Frontline (December 29-January 5)

Eximius: Seize the Frontline's 5v5 battles bring together first-person shooter and real-time strategy elements as they take you to post-apocalyptic urban settings. Officers command soldiers from a first-person perspective, while the Commander gets a top-down view of the battlefield, making it easy to build up their team's base or help the squad out with various support abilities.

Kerbal Space Program (January 5-12)

A slightly different take on a space simulator. Career mode doesn't just let you try your hand at building spacecraft, it also puts you in charge of overseeing the strategy, funding, upgrades, and other different aspects of a space program run by a race of dim-witted aliens. Sandbox mode challenges your creativity by unlocking every part available in the game while letting you focus purely on the building side of things.

Shadow Tactics - Aiko's Choice (January 5-12)

Shadow Tactics - Aiko's Choice is a standalone expansion of Mimimi Games' popular stealth-based strategy game. The game follows Aiko, a skilled kunoichi master, as she chases the ghosts of her past alongside her deadly assassin friends. Each of the five playable characters has a different set of skills and weaknesses you need to use carefully and pay attention to as you navigate the handcrafted levels.

First Class Trouble (January 12-19)

First Class Trouble is a social deduction game where, depending on the role you're playing, you'll need to either help your teammates shut down a dangerous AI or stop them from doing so. Your crew is split between humans and killer robots called Personoids. The humans need to work together to identify the Personoids among them before shutting down the AI known as CAIN, while the Personoids need to unlock the AI's full potential.
