PS5 Games 2023: Most Anticipated Releases

PlayStation 5 players are quite excited for this year, because a whole lineup of standout PS5 games is waiting for them! As you'll remember, Sony gave users a series of first-party games in 2022 that turned the console world upside down. From Horizon Forbidden West to God of War Ragnarök, Sony dominated the stage last year. In 2023, there's a whole lineup of massive games coming out of PlayStation studios. PS5 Games Coming Out in 2023!

Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Marvel's Spider-Man 2, the sequel to 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man, will bring back Bryan Intihar and Ryan Smith as creative director and game director, respectively. The upcoming sequel will launch for PlayStation 5 in fall 2023. Given how popular Marvel's Spider-Man is, we can say the excitement for this game will likely be huge as well.

Final Fantasy XVI

Final Fantasy XVI, produced by Naoki Yoshida of Final Fantasy XIV, tells the story of Clive Rosfield, who chases the dark Eikon Ifrit after the fall of his home kingdom. The game will launch for PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023.

Forspoken

Forspoken, a brand-new IP from Square Enix developed by Luminous Productions, introduces us to the story of Frey Holland, who finds herself transported from New York City to the fantasy world of Athia. Now armed with new magical powers, Frey must survive under Tanta's cruel rule in Athia and find her way back home. Forspoken will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC on January 24.

Call of the Mountain

Call of the Mountain, a new adventure in the Horizon world, will debut on PSVR 2 and centers on Ryas, a disgraced former soldier. Throughout its adventure, the game will feature new and returning characters, including Aloy. The game will launch for PSVR 2 on February 22, 2023.

Silent Hill 2: Remake

Silent Hill 2, the remake of the iconic survival horror game of the same name, is being developed by Bloober Team under Konami's supervision. The remake was announced by Konami in October 2022, and although no release date has been given yet, it's expected to come to PlayStation 5.

Death Stranding 2

Death Stranding 2 (working title), announced during The Game Awards 2022, is another ambitious project from Kojima Productions. Like the first game, Norman Reedus and Léa Seydoux are expected to star. The game's release date hasn't been announced yet, but we know it will launch on PlayStation 5.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Rebirth, the second part of Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, will launch in winter 2023. The game will pick up from the expanded retelling seen in Final Fantasy VII Remake and will likely continue the story of Cloud and his companions.

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade, formerly known as Project Eve, is an upcoming action game from Shift Up Corp, and players will see themselves fall to a ravaged Earth as Eve on a journey to save the world and protect the surviving citizens of Xion. Stellar Blade doesn't have a release date yet, but the game will be coming to PlayStation 5.

The Dark Pictures: Switchback

The Dark Pictures: Switchback, a spin-off of The Dark Pictures Anthology, is an upcoming shooter developed and published by Supermassive Games for PlayStation VR2. This horror-themed shooter will feature locations from the first season's four The Dark Pictures games, including Little Hope.

Marvel's Wolverine

Not much has been revealed about Insomniac Games' upcoming Marvel's Wolverine, but the short teaser that was released has managed to grab fans' attention. The game doesn't have a release date yet, but it's currently in development for PlayStation 5.
