FIFA 22 FUT Heroes: New Ultimate Team Card Type and First Heroes

FUT Heroes Are Coming to FIFA 22 Ultimate Team!

EA has released the first 8 FUT Heroes for FIFA 22, with more to be introduced in August.

What Are FUT Heroes?

EA Sports announced that FUT Heroes have been introduced in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. FUT Heroes feature the most memorable players in football with outstanding careers. These Heroes will have a unique, league-specific chemistry tied to their heroic moments, allowing a green link with any player in the same league. They will also link by nation. This new addition will give players new ways to build their dream squads and recreate some of football's popular memories in FUT 22.

FIFA 22 FUT Heroes was announced as a brand-new card type coming to Ultimate Team when the game launches on October 1.

The two biggest flaws in FIFA 21's history were the #EAGate scandal and fans' dissatisfaction with the Icon program. Fans wanted Icons to be more accessible than ever to the majority of the player base, but there were still complaints about the Icon Swaps and SBC programs. Claims about the black market also added fuel to the fire.

It seems this new FUT Heroes program is a subset of Icons that provides strong links to any player in the league set for the item in FUT. A unique chemistry addition that lets players build even more theories with their squads.

These are legacy players like ICONs, but they are assigned to specific leagues to help maximize chemistry, "giving you new ways to build your dream squad and recreate some of football's most famous moments in FUT 22."

Which FUT Heroes Have Been Revealed So Far in FIFA 22?

Tim Cahill

The Australian striker, who also played as an attacking midfielder, will be among the FUT Heroes in FIFA 22. Cahill began his top-level career at Millwall and transferred to Everton in 2004, scoring 56 goals for the club. An 85-rated Cahill may not be the solution for your team, but he could be handy for headers. His guiding technique and the wide variety of finishes he offers make him someone players can collect.

Mario Gomez

The German striker also makes the list of FUT Heroes in FIFA 22. Mario Gomez spent most of his football career in Germany with VfB Stuttgart. He scored a total of 231 goals for various clubs throughout his career. Gomez is remembered for the goal that brought Stuttgart its third Bundesliga title.

Jorge Campos

The Mexican sweeper-style goalkeeper was a very successful figure throughout the 90s. He went to three World Cups with his country, played as a striker when needed and made a difference with his goals. Campos' agility on the goal line and his saves with his feet also made him a rare talent at the time. He is known as the biggest factor in his team winning the League title in 1991.

Robbie Keane

The Irish striker made his mark on the Premier League with clubs such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. He scored more than 120 goals during his time in the Premier League. He is best remembered for his performance in 2008, when he helped Spurs win the League Cup.

Who Are the Other FUT Heroes Coming to FIFA 22?

• Diego Milito - 88 (Argentina, Serie A)
• Abedi Ayew Pele (Ghana, Ligue 1 Uber Eats)
• Sami Al-Jaber (Saudi Arabia, MBS Pro League)
• Fernando Morientes (Spain, LaLiga Santander)

In addition, EA said more Heroes will be released in August. FIFA players can now pre-order the FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition before the end of August 11 to get an untradeable FUT Heroes player.
