FIFA 23's Best Wingers, Ranked

FIFA 23 Best Wingers! Right Winger and Left Winger Players!

Over the last decade, the perception and role of the winger position has changed dramatically. Most wingers are no longer expected to simply hug the touchline and focus on getting the ball into the box, crossing plenty of times if needed (unfortunately that's still not the case in our league) — instead, most modern managers instruct them to be in and around the box during attacking sequences and expect them to be a major source of goals. This shift largely came from players like Ronaldo, Messi, and Robben, who still inspire most of the best players in the world today and changed how managers use the wide areas of the pitch.

As in most years, EA didn't spring many surprises with the best wingers in FIFA 23, the latest game in the FIFA series. Many Ultimate Team fans will want to spend a significant part of their budget on winger positions, and all of these highly rated wingers are ideal picks.

Who Are FIFA 23's Best Wingers? Which One Should I Get?

NOTE: This list only includes players in the LW and RW positions; players in the LM and RM positions are not considered.

7/7

Riyad Mahrez - 86

Riyad Mahrez's career saw a sharp rise in fame while he was a key part of the Leicester City side that shocked the world by winning the Premier League. A few seasons later he moved to Manchester City, and today he's considered one of the league's best wingers.

Despite his quality, Mahrez often finds himself on the bench, which speaks to the incredible depth Manchester City currently have. Mahrez's excellent ball control, solid pace, and finishing make him one of the top picks for the right winger position in FIFA 23's Ultimate Team mode.

6/7

Raheem Sterling - 86

The 2022 summer transfer window was one of the most exciting in history, with plenty of big names on the move and a handful of dramatic transfer sagas. Behind this transfer was the idea that Sterling wasn't getting enough playing time, and looking at his performances he wasn't entirely wrong (no offense to Guardiola).

Like Mahrez, Sterling is definitely one of the best assets in FIFA 23 thanks to his excellent ball control, finishing, and pace attributes.

5/7

Vinicius Junior - 86

It wasn't long ago that many people thought Brazilian winger Vinícius Júnior wouldn't make it at Real Madrid, mainly because he wasn't scoring goals. But the player silenced his critics with a string of excellent performances in 2021-2022, scoring 17 in La Liga and a handful in the Champions League, including the goal that won Real Madrid the tournament.

Beyond his excellent stats, Vinícius Júnior becoming a fan favorite showed that he would definitely command a significant price in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.

4/7

Heung-Min Son - 89

Heung-Min Son had his best goalscoring season in 2021-2022, netting 23 goals in 35 Premier League matches to share the Golden Boot with Salah. Son's excellent positioning and superb finishing, especially from outside the box, made him one of the league's most dangerous players.

Having played Robin to Harry Kane's Batman up front for years, Son has started showing over the past few seasons that he's an equally important player in his own right.

3/7

Neymar Jr - 89

It's certainly not unusual for a young Brazilian forward to be called "the next superstar." Still, during his time at Santos it was clear that Neymar would become one of the greats, and he proved it despite the enormous pressure on him.

Neymar didn't disappoint when he arrived at Barcelona, and after a short adjustment period he became a key part of the team. Since then he's been regarded as one of the best wingers in the world, and his stats in FIFA 23 certainly reflect that.

2/7

Mohammed Salah - 90

When Mohammed Salah left Chelsea, he looked like another promising player who wouldn't live up to his high potential. But everything changed after his excellent spell at Roma and his transfer to Liverpool, where under Klopp he far exceeded even the highest expectations to become one of the best players in the world.

Salah is just 1 point away from this year's highest rating in the game, 91. While that might seem unlucky for the Egyptian, being the highest-rated winger after Messi means he'll get a taste of the top spot in the future.

1/7

Lionel Messi - 91

Many expected Messi to be a one-club man and spend his entire career at Barcelona, so his move to PSG in 2021 was a huge shock. Barcelona's financial troubles meant they couldn't afford the Argentine's wages, so he moved to Paris to reunite with his former teammate Neymar.

Although Messi's first season at PSG was disappointing, the legendary player scored 91 in FIFA 23, making him the best player in the game alongside De Bruyne, Benzema, Lewandowski, and Mbappe.
