Who Are the Fastest Players in FIFA 23?

Once again showing up as part of the real-world meta, the traditional number nines mean high-pace players continue to be a major factor in FIFA 23, just as they are in every FIFA game. Whether it's breaking on a team that's camped on the ball or blowing past defenders with speed, acceleration and pace matter enormously and remain the two most important stats for most FIFA players (even if not for me).

Unsurprisingly, the fastest players in FIFA 23 may not be all that different from the fastest players in previous FIFA games, but there are a few new faces for FIFA 23 players to get to know. Whether you're building a new Ultimate Team squad or starting a new career mode, you're definitely going to want to have these unstoppable FIFA 23 fastest players on your side!

Kevin Schade (94 Pace)

Last season was a huge one for 20-year-old Kevin Schade, with the versatile right winger earning his first call-up to SC Freiburg's first team. His rating jumped from 62 to 70 after scoring five goals and providing two assists in 24 matches across every competition he played.

Most of his stats got a healthy boost, but none more so than his pace. Schade only had 69 pace at the start of FIFA 22, but after a somewhat ridiculous +25 increase, he's now among the fastest players in FIFA 23. His potential also rose from 76 to 83, which makes him a solid pick for career mode.

Ismaïla Sarr (94 Pace)

At one point during the transfer window, Sarr looked to be all but guaranteed a return to the Premier League with Aston Villa. For whatever reason, the deal fell through at the last minute, which means the young Senegalese winger will now be staying at Watford at least until January.

Villa's loss was Watford's gain, with the lightning-fast winger making a brilliant start to the season. The player himself might be a little disappointed to be playing in England's second tier, but he can at least take some comfort in knowing he's the fastest player in the Championship.

Sheraldo Becker (95 Pace)

Players usually tend to slow down a bit as they get older, but that isn't the case for Union Berlin winger Sheraldo Becker. To be fair, the 27-year-old right winger has always been a pacey player, but the fact that his 95 pace is higher than the rating he's received in every other FIFA game, despite being in his late twenties, also means FIFA wasn't paying him much attention before.

Whatever the reason, Becker, who closed out last season brilliantly, absolutely deserves the rating boost. He backed that up with his form at the start of this season too, with the player scoring six goals and providing four assists in just seven league matches.

Daniel James (95 Pace)

After leaving Manchester United for Leeds in the summer of 2021, many expected Dan James to finally start living up to expectations. Unfortunately, things didn't go so well for the pacey winger at Elland Road, which led to a transfer to Fulham on deadline day just 12 months later.

If James can work on the rest of his game, he has the potential to become one of the most dangerous players in the Premier League. He showed flashes of what he can really do at both Leeds and Manchester, so the ability to improve his game is definitely there, he just hasn't been able to show it consistently on the pitch yet!

Vinícius Junior (95 Pace)

It may have taken Vini a little while to unlock his potential, but his performance last season showed exactly why Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelloti trust him so much. He built incredible chemistry with Ballon d'Or favorite Karim Benzema and played a huge part in the team winning a record fourteenth Champions League title.

After playing 35 league matches last season with 17 goals and 10 assists, it was clear the fast Brazilian winger was going to get a big rating boost. We were predicting a +6 jump in his overall rating, with the only stat staying the same being his pace, which was already at 95. :)

Adama Traore (96 Pace)

Adama Traoré isn't just one of the fastest players in FIFA 23, he's also one of the strongest. Unfortunately, the 26-year-old Spaniard's last transfer went incredibly badly, which is why, despite regularly showing up on lists of the fastest FIFA players, he's never really been able to reach his potential and his rating has stayed at just 79.

Some people were surprised when Barcelona decided to sign Traoré last season, but that just shows how highly regarded he still is in world football. Unfortunately, the deal didn't work out well for either side, which led to Traoré returning to Wolves for the following season.

Kylian Mbappé (97 Pace)

Waiting for Messi to retire so he can become the best in the world, Mbappe is at the top of the list of players who are simply impossible to stop in every sense of the word.

He's holding onto the fastest player title for the third year running, and if his current form is anything to go by, it probably won't be the last time either.

The fact that Mbappé has been the cover star for three years running as FIFA's fastest player crowned might raise a few eyebrows here and there, but anyone who's actually watched him play knows exactly how fast he really is. He also knows exactly how to use his speed, and it's like he's creating a console-game effect in real life!
