Football Manager 2023 (FM 23) looks set to launch in November. We've previously covered the game in various guide articles, most recently on how to get real names and licenses in FM 23. This time we'll cover how to complete one of the game's hardest challenges: the San Marino challenge. How do you do the FM 23 San Marino challenge?
Football Manager 2023: How to Complete the San Marino Challenge
First off, you'll need an edited database to run this save, since the San Marino league system isn't represented in FM22 and probably won't be in FM23 either. However, a dedicated team of mod makers keeps making sure the challenge stays accessible to players. Cattolica Calcio San Marino is the only club you can use for this, since it's the one that qualifies to play in the Italian leagues, which matters here. For this challenge you need to win Serie A and the Champions League. You'll need to get an Italian database that extends down to the Italian fifth tier, which is currently being played. After that, while the save's rules become a bit simpler, you'll be in charge of the San Marino national team.
- Start by managing both the club and the national team.
- Appoint yourself as manager of Cattolica Calcio San Marino.
- Appoint yourself as manager of San Marino.
- You can only sign players who are San Marino nationals.
- To develop both your club and the national team's talent pool, try to bring through as many young players as possible.
- Win Serie A and the Champions League within the league system.
- Try to take San Marino's national team to the World Cup.
- This challenge won't be over until you've won all three of the major trophies.
- Invest all the money you have at the start of the save into youth coaching.
- Focus on bringing through youngsters, while also bringing in more experienced players who can work as mentors.
- Make sure your club tactics match your national team tactics.
Even though this looks like one of the hardest challenges to complete, and could take years, we'd recommend giving it a shot!
