Football Manager's 2024 release is still a while away, but information and predictions about the new game have started coming in. On our page, where we've written about everything from the most promising players to buy to the best players, from release date to pricing, this time we'll take a look at our FM 24 team recommendations! FM 24 career recommendations! 2024's best picks list.

Also, feel free to check out our article on FM 24's Affordable and Quality Players Under 10M Euros.

Rather than the best teams for those starting a new career, I'll cover teams where you can experience fresh excitement in the game and share in the success of the club you choose.

I've put together this ranking not from best or most enjoyable to least, but completely mixed. Since enjoyment is subjective, you can start with whichever club best fits your style and taste.

FM 24 Team Recommendations: Which Team Should I Choose in FM 24?

While I can never give a definitive answer to this question, from my own perspective I try to lean toward teams with higher competition and different goals for the future. I sort them into categories like a team that's just come up from a lower division, a team that's just become champion and will compete in the Champions League, or a team with its own story and vision.

Our FM 25 team recommendations article is fresh off the press!

FM 24 Team Recommendations: 1) Newcastle

Newcastle, one of England's most established clubs, was sold to Saudi Arabia in late 2021, and this season the investment started paying off — as I write this article, they sit third in the league with 66 points. If they don't slip up, they'll be in the Champions League next season, and I think it could be fun predicting what the club can do in this huge competition while developing the squad. Given their very high transfer budget, this is tailor-made especially for managers who love big spending.

FM 24 Team Recommendations: 2) Samsunspor

Samsunspor, returning to the Süper Lig after 11 years, is buzzing with excitement both as a club and among its fans. Their biggest challenge will be staying in the league next season. If you enjoy the fight to survive in the lower half of the table, Samsunspor is exactly the team for you!

3) Galatasaray

It might not appeal to those who aren't fans, but thanks to the squad's quality and the chance to enter Champions League qualifying next season, Galatasaray is a lot of fun for managers who like to aim for the top. If Galatasaray becomes champion, they could enter the Champions League through the preliminary round, giving you a shot at being the first Turkish club to pull that off.

4) Genk

Thanks especially to their transfer policy and development of young talent, this team sat at the top before the playoffs — can they become champions after the playoffs? Who knows, but I can safely say they're a very enjoyable team with a great core, and with the right manager they could go on to even bigger achievements.

FM 24 Career Recommendations! The Most Enjoyable Clubs!

5) Lens

Although they wanted to repeat what Lille did two years ago and land their own blow against Paris SG's dominance, they ran out of steam in the final stretch and the title slipped away. They still have a weapon in hand — finishing runner-up and reaching the Champions League. If they manage to pull that off, whoever starts a career with Lens is in for some tough and exciting days ahead!

6) Arsenal

Arsenal came very close to pulling off the biggest surprise of the season but fell short, and Mikel Arteta showed everyone they're on the right track. If you think you can do better than Arteta and take this club to even greater heights, a fantastic club and talented players await you. A Champions League ticket is a nice bonus too ;)

7) Brighton & Hove Albion

How did they get this far with that squad? If you have no idea, you can experience the difficulty of choosing Brighton and juggling the Premier League with European competitions before Roberto De Zerbi did.

8) Barcelona

Considering Real Madrid and Barcelona as step-siblings, it's not too surprising when one of them becomes champion. Still, the big points gap they opened up may have irritated the Real camp. With Real Madrid expected to be much stronger next season, can you repeat Barcelona's success and end their long-running Champions League title drought on top of that? Good luck...

9) Real Betis

Real Betis, who will be in the Europa League — or worst case the Conference League — next season, met my expectations from last year and had a very good season on their own terms. With plenty of young players and their continued development strengthening the squad, Real Betis, with well-run transfer policy, could set their sights on Atletico Madrid's throne. If you want to experience this rivalry in FM 24, don't miss out — keep Betis's vision alive on the way to becoming Spain's best third team!
