GS is having an eventful transfer window that closes tonight. After first floating a Vecino transfer and getting a huge backlash for it, causing the management to backpedal, they turned to different names and added two good players on the final day: Ndombele and Sanchez.

We'll take a brief look at how we can use Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele in an FM24 career, their real-life impact, and squad-planning topics!

Bringing in two Tottenham players will obviously add a certain amount of strength. Ndombele's dynamism will be a great addition to the midfield, and you're also adding a very solid centre-back in Davinson Sanchez, who you can comfortably use whenever needed. I think Ndombele will start his FM24 career at a lower level than in FM23, but he'll still be plenty good enough for Galatasaray and the Süper Lig. In particular, Ndombele fits very well the profile I described in yesterday's Vecino article (which also went down in history for its fan reaction of the year) of a player with tempo and dribbling ability. Whatever setup Galatasaray goes with, they'll be able to play him comfortably in either a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3. Combined with Davinson Sanchez, these are players who'll adapt easily even if you want to play with a back three. Even though Davinson Sanchez may lose some physical attributes compared to FM23, even as he is he'll be more than enough for FM24's Turkish league. Even for competing in European competitions, where the very top level may look difficult, these are players who can carry you toward mid-to-upper-tier goals. Ndombele has all the traits of a true dribbling playmaker and profile-wise can complement the Torreira - Kerem Demirbay pairing.

While I have my doubts about it in real life, I can comfortably say these are positive developments for an FM 24 career.

Are Tanguy Ndombele and Davinson Sanchez the Right Signings?

Looking at this independent of the game, I don't find it entirely sound, though I do think the player profiles themselves are right. Will we see Ndombele's real qualities, or just a mirage built on his name? We don't know, and that's what makes Ndombele a risky signing. Bringing Davinson Sanchez in gradually as part of a transition, possibly alongside a Victor Nelsson sale at mid-season or the end of the season, and having three good centre-backs you can freely rotate through the season (independent of the foreign-player rule) could make things easier on you.

What Should the Transfer Policy Be?

This squad, already built at a high caliber, now needs to take steps that look more toward the future and toward development rather than more marquee signings. If the Ndombele gamble pays off, great, no argument there, but the focus now needs to shift more toward player development and improving the squad rather than just transfers.

Transfer frenzy can only take you so far... like every club that does things right,

we need to plan with the future in mind,

and stop talking about football purely in terms of names!
