Fans will be able to pre-order the Official Soundtrack album via iTunes and Amazon Music starting October 18, and will officially be able to own the music on November 1. Meanwhile, to celebrate this announcement, the Dragon Age: The Veilguard Main Theme has been released as the first single from the official soundtrack, and can now be streamed on Spotify, iTunes, and Deezer.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Audio Director Cody Behiel said, "One of our goals for the music of Dragon Age: The Veilguard was to forge a powerful bond between the world of Thedas and the different characters living in it." He continued, "Throughout the game's story, in both its most epic and its most intimate moments, we wanted players to feel that their actions were connected to the personal relationships they built. Working with Hans and Lorne took these ideas to an emotional peak far beyond what we imagined, and I can't wait for players to experience the musical journey that resulted."
Oscar-winning Zimmer, one of the world's most celebrated composers, has earned countless awards and accolades for his work on Dune, Dunkirk, Interstellar, Inception, and many other films. With his name attached to more than 100 film scores, Dragon Age: The Veilguard marks Zimmer's first video game score in roughly 10 years.
Hans Zimmer had this to say about his work on Dragon Age: The Veilguard: "Epic stories rely on epic music, and the narrative BioWare has crafted in The Veilguard has been a constant source of inspiration for me, both in the game's heroic moments and its darkest emotional depths. I'm proud to have shared the journey of creating the musical backdrop for the latest Dragon Age adventure with Lorne and the entire design team."
Grammy-winning Balfe has his name on more than 170 films, TV shows, and games, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed III, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, and Beyond: Two Souls, all of which were nominated for Best Original Music at the BAFTA Games Awards.
Lorne Balfe said, "The world of Dragon Age is an unprecedented, immersive experience, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard takes it to new heights." He continued, "Creating this music together with Hans Zimmer allowed us to bring an epic new touch to the world of Thedas and elevate these characters and their stories to another level. I can't wait for everyone to play this game."
