How to Record Gameplay With Nvidia ShadowPlay

Nvidia Shadowplay, also known as Nvidia Share, is a tool that lets gamers with Nvidia graphics cards record and stream their gameplay live. It can also be described as an in-game overlay that lets you take screenshots or check your frames per second (fps). Most Nvidia card users can access this feature, but keep in mind that you need to enable Nvidia Shadowplay before it can record your game. How do you use Nvidia Shadowplay (Nvidia Share)? How to Record Gameplay With Nvidia ShadowPlay

Nvidia Share can only be accessed through GeForce Experience. Among other things, this Nvidia software helps you download and install drivers and optimize your game settings.

• Launch Nvidia Share by pressing the Alt + Z keyboard shortcut.
• If it won't open, you may not have GeForce Experience installed. You can download it directly from Nvidia's website.
• Before you start recording, select Settings, right below the in-game overlay switch, to adjust a few options.
• Two important settings you must configure before recording are Privacy Control and Recordings:
• Scroll down in Settings until you find Privacy Control, then enable Desktop Capture. Without this, you won't be able to record at all. In Recordings, you can choose the folder where your video recordings will end up. Be sure to check this before recording, especially if one of your drives has limited space.
• Other settings worth considering:
• Keyboard shortcuts: Set the shortcut used to bring up Nvidia Shadowplay and other useful key bindings during gameplay.
• Video capture: You can adjust the video quality, resolution, fps, and length of the Instant Replay feature.
• Audio: Lets you separate and mute specific audio tracks. A handy feature if you'll be using voice chat while also recording gameplay.
• Click around and change the settings that matter to you. You may have Instant Replay turned on. First disable it, then try reorganizing your settings.
• Open the game you want to record. You can then bring Shadowplay back up by pressing Alt + Z or selecting the small overlay icon in the corner. Selecting Share opens the in-game interface. It can be launched at any time, even if you're not currently playing.
• Before you start recording, decide whether you also want to record your webcam and microphone. You can set this up in the Nvidia Shadowplay overlay on the right side of the interface. Select the Webcam and Microphone icons to turn them on or off.
• When you're ready to start recording, you can press Record directly in Nvidia Shadowplay, then Start, or use the default keyboard shortcut Alt + F9. Use the same shortcut to stop recording when you're done. Alternatively, you can bring up the Shadowplay interface with Alt + Z and then stop the recording manually.
• The recording will be saved to the folder you chose while setting up Nvidia Share. By default, recordings can be found in C: > Users > YourName > Videos.
• And now your first gameplay video recorded with Nvidia Shadowplay is ready!
