iOS 16.3 Features and Release Date

The long-awaited iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 update has been rolled out to all users. A day later, Apple gave developers the first beta of the newest iOS 16.3 and iPadOS 16.3. How do you download iOS 16.3? What are its features? Let's take a look!

How Do You Download the Beta?

You can wait for the public beta update to be released. If you want earlier access to the new version, you need to open a developer account. To do that, you have to pay Apple a $99 annual fee.

If you already have a developer account, you can download the beta from the Apple Developer Center page. After logging into the web page, select the profile that matches your device and start the download. You can complete the installation from the Software Update section in System Preferences.

After doing that, follow these steps:

• Open the Settings app on your iPhone
• Follow the path General > Software Update
• Tap Download and Install

If you're not an Apple developer, we don't recommend installing the new beta version. As can happen with any new update, you may run into a number of bugs and end up having to revert to the previous version.

Along with iOS, Apple also released beta versions of MacOS Ventura 13.2, watchOS 9.3, and tvOS 16.3. All the changes brought by these updates, released together, will become clear in the coming days.

What Are the Features of iOS 16.3?

The new version was released to developers registered with Apple for testing purposes. Looking at areas that haven't changed in a long time, we can see some updates in the emoji section. Alongside that, the first change noticed for iOS 16.3 and MacOS Ventura 13.2 was in the security section. With this feature, users will now be asked for an additional security key when a new device logs into their account.

The first beta with the new security feature is 5.33 GB in size. Users in Apple's developer program can download the update right away to iPhone devices that support the new version.

When Will the Update Be Released?

In his newsletter, Mark Gurman also claimed that Apple is targeting a release date between early February and early March for iOS 16.3 and macOS Ventura 13.3.
