Every year we get a new iPhone, and every year it comes with more or less new features. The affordable iPhone SE unveiled last week kept the same design but added a few things under the hood. iPhone 14, expected to be the second iPhone unveiled this year, might not make everyone happy with the performance it offers. According to a report from reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, there will be a serious split when it comes to performance.
What Will the iPhone 14's Features Be?
Apple has introduced a new chip with every new iPhone it has launched in recent years. The iPhone 11 has the Bionic A13, the iPhone 12 has the Bionic A14, and the iPhone 13 has the Bionic A15. However, the iPhone 14, set to launch later this year, won't come with the Bionic A16. We'll only see the A16 chip in the Pro model. That keeps the new generation's base model at the same performance level as the iPhone 13. On top of that, the camera will also largely stay the same. Our consolation is that all models are said to come with 6GB of RAM.
Only two Pro models would upgrade to the A16 processor, while the 14 & 14 Max will remain the A15. All four new models will likely come with 6GB RAM, with the difference being LPDDR 5 (14 Pro & 14 Pro Max) vs. LPDDR 4X (14 & 14 Max). https://t.co/tHcszIz6gX

That said, we have to point out that the Bionic A15 chip in the iPhone 13 is plenty good enough. Of course, higher performance is always a plus for professional content creators and gamers. But since a new chip every year also affects the device's price, you end up paying for performance you won't actually use. That's exactly why even older devices like the iPhone 11 still perform extremely well today.
