Is League of Legends 2 Coming? LoL 2 Release Rumors

Riot Games announced in its latest developer blog that some older operating systems will no longer support League of Legends starting in 2024. That means the game will no longer be playable for players still on Windows 7 or 8. While nothing is confirmed yet, this suggests that League of Legends 2 could be in development. What are the details on this? We'll take a close look at whether League of Legends 2 (LoL 2) is coming, and when it might arrive.

Is League of Legends 2 (LoL 2) Coming?

The League of Legends client isn't perfect, but it's easy to run, which lets even players with older computers play the game. However, starting in 2024, some changes are coming to the game, and certain players will no longer be able to play it.

Riot Games will change the game's system requirements; starting in 2024, you'll need Windows 10 or 11 to run League of Legends.

Recently, Riot Pupulasers also posted a cryptic tweet sharing some things they had learned and their beliefs about the direction LoL should take. The tweet included lines about Riot Games such as "chasing legendary dreams instead of perfecting what we already know" and "there will be something for everyone in 2024. 2025 will change the game forever."

This has led players to think Riot will make some changes in 2025, and that one of them could be a brand-new game. While an official League of Legends 2 launch seems unlikely, Riot Games may be working on a new engine.

When Is League of Legends 2 (LoL 2) Coming?

Since we don't have any concrete information on this right now, it's hard to say when the game might release. However, we do know that the game's system requirements will change starting in 2024, and we'll see much bigger changes in 2025.
