LoL Patch 12.1 Top Lane Tier List (January 2022)

League of Legends: do you want to get better? Have you read our guides and still not improving? Then you are probably playing the wrong champions. But don't worry, we have something for you right here. Here is our new tier list series in which we look at the best champions of every patch. Today we are looking at LoL Patch 12.01.

In this patch, we got a buff to Nature's Might, but no top lane champions were touched. Does that mean nothing has changed in the top lane? We will take a look at how Season 12 will almost start. Here is our Top Lane tier list.

LoL Patch 12.1 Top Lane: Best 5 Champions

5. Darius

With the Teleport changes, champions can no longer escape the bot lane surprise to gain gold and experience. What does this mean? Well, Darius will thrive because he can win any lane matchup with ease, and that way he gets a huge advantage.

4. Poppy

Poppy is one of the best top laners in the current meta. With her tankiness she can stand up to all the hunters, and her passive keeps her standing in any fight. So do not mess with Poppy and her hammer in this patch.

3. Tahm Kench

Tahm Kench has not left this list since his rework in Season 11. His kit is a perfect mix of durability and offensive pressure to throw his weight (literally) around the top lane. Nothing has really changed with Kench, and he has very few bad matchups. If you are struggling to deal with this pick, you can try counter-picking with Lillia, which looks like one of the only real counters. Otherwise, you had better pray he does not eat your LP in Patch 12.01!

2. Sylas

Sylas can duel better than most. His innate healing, damage and mobility help him gain a big advantage early. He will win any 1v1, and with the Teleport changes the other top laners cannot escape him this time. That means he can get a lead and outpace everyone.

1. Fiora

As with many top lane champions, Fiora has adapted to the new item meta. It is incredibly common to see a Bloodthirster Fiora slapping around your poor tank champion. She is definitely a mechanically demanding champion, but this new itemization has made her flawless. If you wanted to learn the details of this champion, Patch 12.01 is the best time to do it. Just make sure you get one of her great skins so you can look cool while doing it!
