In brief
AI summaryIn November 2023, Riot Games announced League of Legends (LoL) Season 14 map changes to even out the red and blue sides of Summoner's Rift, ahead of the Preseason 2024 PBE.
The Season 14 top lane change cuts the red side so it looks more like the blue side, because the red side's open entrance path made it more vulnerable to ganks.
Season 14 also changes the bot lane wall to give the red side a closer entrance, and adjusts the mid lane river paths to be equal, with more paths toward tier 1 turrets.

LoL Preseason 2024 will soon begin on the PBE. Riot Games has many things in mind for LoL Season 14, and at the top of the list are the map changes. As Riot Games reworks the maps, it also brings some major adjustments. Let's see what the LoL Season 14 map update covers.
All Map Changes in LoL Season 14
To provide a new experience on Summoner's Rift, Riot is making changes all over the map. For 2024, the developers decided to even out the map so that both the red and blue sides stand on equal footing. The team also wanted to give the top lane more impact, so some changes were made.
LoL Top Lane Map Changes
Some significant adjustments will be made in the top lane on the map to ensure that both the blue and red sides have the same amount of activity.
Riot will cut the red side of the top lane, meaning it will look more like the blue side. The red side is more vulnerable to ganks because the entrance path is open, and cutting it and adding a path to the lane further back will even out the lanes.
LoL Bot Lane Map Changes
Similar to the top lane, the red side's bot lane is much safer than the blue side's bot lane. To even things out, Riot changed the wall on the bot side so that those on the red side have an entrance closer to the lane, and closed it further back.
LoL Mid Lane Map Changes
There will also be some map changes in the mid lane to mirror the red and blue sides. Although the Raptor camps are currently the same, changes will be made on the other sides so that the path from the mid lane to the river is equal on both sides. This will also open up paths closer to the tier 1 turrets in the mid lane.
These are the map changes we expect in Season 14. Whether playing this way will double the fun and whether we will like these changes in the game, we will all find out together with the PBE patch...
