Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition Is Free for Owners

Metro Exodus is a first-person shooter video game set in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created, blending combat, stealth, and survival elements with horror. Developed by 4A Games and published by Deep Silver, Metro Exodus is the third game in the Metro series, inspired by the novels of author Dmitry Glukhovsky. It follows and continues the events of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light.

Metro Exodus, set in a post-apocalyptic Russia that is both haunted by and benefiting from leaving behind the terrifying tunnels of the Moscow Metro, is now 3 years old. On top of that, the Enhanced Edition is now completely free for anyone who already owns the game. But after sharing this good news, there's a small detail we need to add.

The Enhanced Edition, the upgraded version of Metro Exodus, features a "full ray-traced lighting pipeline" that adds a range of optimizations, upgrades and new features to the game's already impressive visuals, including enhanced ray-traced reflections and DLSS 2.0 support on NVIDIA hardware. Unfortunately, that ray tracing technology is not optional. If your graphics card doesn't support it, you won't have a chance to access this terrifying version of Metro for free.

When Will Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition Release?

Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition will launch on May 9. However, it won't be available on Stadia or Amazon Luna, and Linux and Mac versions won't be coming either.
