NBA 2K22 MyTeam: Top 10 Diamond Cards

Getting a Diamond card in NBA 2K22 feels like winning the lottery. Pulling one of these Diamond cards in MyTeam feels like winning the lottery twice.

When a Diamond player animation triggers in NBA 2K22, there are two feelings. The first is joy. The chance of pulling one is very rare! Worst case, the card can be sold for Virtual Currency.

The next feeling is frustration. What if it is one of the overrated Diamond cards? About half of them don't have a single Hall of Fame badge. Paying for a card that looks good but doesn't play well, and winning nothing, feels like a slap in the face. These are the cards players should hope to pull most in NBA 2K22.

Who Are the Top 10 Diamond Cards in NBA 2K22?

Tim Duncan (10)

Here is the deal with why this Tim Duncan card is so good. Post moves and shots were significantly improved this year. Not by a little; playing in the post is now so strong that most players try to use the post game as their primary scoring option.

Duncan does two things. First, he impresses with the consistency of his bank shots, and he also has Hall of Fame and gold badges. His 92 offense and 95 defense ratings make this card play three levels higher than listed.

Derrick Rose (9)

The state of the game from the point guard position is simple: try to knock the opponent off balance with a dribble, then drive, and if the shot isn't available, pass. Most veterans use this formula and need someone who can do these three things consistently.

The Derrick Rose card is a dream come true for these players, with every playmaking badge except post moves, matched by strong bonuses to dunks and layups. If players have only one Diamond card, they are probably hoping for someone like Rose.

Allen Iverson (8)

Allen Iverson was an eleven-time consecutive NBA All-Star, a four-time scoring leader and a three-time steals leader. If the Hall of Fame had a Hall of Honor, he would be on it.

Whatever the reason, his card isn't top-tier in steals, but it is excellent in ball handling, passing and scoring. He has every playmaker badge except one (the one related to the task), and his finishing ability over taller opponents translates nicely in the game.

Danny Granger (7)

One of the great parts of NBA 2K22 is that MyTeam lets players get an idea of what could have been. Danny Granger was on his way to becoming a legend before injuries kept him from having an All-Star-level career.

With this card, his potential is fully on display, with a stunning 96 rating on offense. He also has four Hall of Fame badges to deepen the advantages. Players who need a Small Forward who can score will want his services.

Dikembe Mutumbo (6)

Nobody will be surprised that this legendary card has a 96 defense rating. Dikembe Mutumbo is a true legend with his shot-blocking ability, second all-time and a three-time league leader. He was also a two-time league leader in rebounding, and the card is great at that too.

What makes the card so special is that it is a "Glitch" card. They gave Mutumbo four Hall of Fame shooting badges and 83 points in three-point shooting, bringing his offense to a total rating of 92. Don't worry; his incredible post game is still very much there.

Nikola Jokic (5)

Nikola Jokic beat Embiid for the MVP award. But he deserved it. Embiid was incredible, but Jokic does things we are not used to seeing from centers.

The fact that some of the best playmaking badges in the game are at Hall of Fame rank tells this card's story. It means he doesn't just score and defend, but also has the skill a team built around a center wants.

Larry Bird (4)

Larry Bird was always an enigma. He got an unbelievable number of steals, shot like a shooting guard, defended in the paint like a center and passed like a point guard. Yet he was still a power forward.

His Hall of Fame badges are split between defense, shooting and playmaking, which suits the card to Bird's legendary ability to do everything. Most surprising is that he doesn't just have the best shooting badges; he has at least a silver in every shooting badge. That is truly mind-blowing.

Shaquille O'Neal (3)

For a larger-than-life personality, Shaquille O'Neal's game said far more than he could verbally. The man won three Finals MVP awards in a row and then went to a different team to win a championship there. He is one of the best centers in NBA history.

This card can do everything a player could hope for from a center. Post scoring was improved this year, and nobody can take advantage of it like O'Neal. But what should be highlighted is his 97 rating. No other Diamond card has a 96 or higher in offense or defense.

Dwyane Wade (x2)

Dwayne Wade gets a double bonus here because he has two cards that are very close to identical, and it would be silly to give each its own entry.

Both cards would occupy this spot because of Wade's incredible bonuses for playmaking and finishing. Dive inside, then kick out a pass, dunk or throw it back; these are all-around cards that reflect everything you want on the court. Four of the five Hall of Fame badges are about finishing at the rim, so make sure you use this unique but incredible shooting guard build.

Isiah Thomas (1)

Isiah Thomas: NCAA champion, Pistons legend, Jordan's enemy, one of the best point guards in the game, Hall-of-Famer, two-time NA champion, twelve-time All-Star and perhaps the best among Diamond cards.

His 96 on offense and 92 on defense are the biggest combination of the two on this list. As if that weren't enough, he has four Hall of Fame badges and an astonishing twenty-nine gold badges. There are only two playmaking badges he doesn't have. This should be exactly what people want when they want a point guard.
