Online Soccer Manager, or OSM, is a game a lot of us love, and being a good manager isn't just about making transfers and sending players to training. There's a lot of technical, tactical detail to the game. In particular, being able to come up with a counter for your opponents — in other words, building counter tactics — is one of the game's key tricks. Today we're continuing our counter tactic series by writing about what you need to do against opponents who line up good players on the wings and try to use them to take points off you. What Should the Lineup Be for the OSM Counter Tactic Against Wing Play in 2022?

To be honest, since using the wings is more of a game plan than a formation, our formation is a bit less important here than in our previous counter tactics. If your opponent is stronger than you and lines up in a 4-3-3, beating them will genuinely be difficult. The 4-3-3 wing play tactic really works well these days. You might need a training camp. Other than that, if your opponent is trying wing play in systems like 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1, we have a good chance of gaining an advantage against them. With a 4-5-1A system, we keep the midfield crowded and put into practice OSM's core idea of suffocating the opponent. You can try to neutralize your opponent by putting your highest-defense players on the wings of your defense and midfield.
