The game, which achieved great success as soon as it came out, has two sequels: Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. The game has also been the subject of films, and a movie adapted from its story was made. The remake version of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was conceived to strengthen the game's graphics and offer us a nicer, more advanced game. That is, after all, what the concept of a remake means.

Prince: The son of the Persian King Shahraman. He is the main character of the game. After the war he joined with his father, he finds the Dagger of Time in the palace of the country they conquered. This dagger has a mysterious event: it gives the Prince the power to control time. But in the following days the Prince will also face the negative effects of this power.

Farah: The daughter of the Indian King Maharajah. After her country is invaded, she is taken captive by the Persian army. But later she helps the Prince and tries to prevent the disaster created by the sands of time.

Vizier: The grand vizier of the Indian King Maharajah. But in return for having his life spared, he betrays his country and helps the Persian king take over the country.

Shahraman: The Prince's father and the Persian king.

Maharajah: The king of the country of Azad and the character who hands the hourglass to Shahraman.
