PUBG 18.2 Patch Notes: Deston Map & Release Date

The popular game PUBG; is available on PC, Xbox One, and mobile devices, and continues to receive regular new updates. Along with the series' huge success on consoles and mobile platforms, the game is on the rise again with the PUBG 18.2 patch. The new patch will also be home to the new map, Deston.

PUBG 18.2 Update Patch Notes Release Date

There's no official date yet for the update's release, but Krafton announced that a new map is coming with the next update, 18.2. The new map, Deston, will go live on PC on July 13, 2022, and on consoles on July 27, 2022. Based on this, we can expect the new update to be released around the same window.

PUBG 18.2 Update Patch Notes: New Map Deston

The map previously known in-game as "Kiki" will be added under the name "Deston." The map is said to feature a wide variety of locations, from mysterious underground labs to massive skyscrapers, swamps, subways, and underwater buildings. It's also thought that the new map will be PUBG's biggest map to date, and that we could see it as the game's first 9×9 or 10×10 map. So far, all we know about the map is that its name changed from Kiki to Deston and that it may have these features, but we'll keep you updated as more details emerge.

PUBG 18.2 Update Patch Notes: What's New?

PUBG's 18.1 update made some changes to the maps. These are:

Erangel

• Total item quantity increased by around 10%.
• Spawn rates for the Vest (Lv.1) and Backpack (Lv.1) decreased by around 15%, while the Vest (Lv.2) and Backpack (Lv.2) increased by around 60%.
• Spawn rates for both the Helmet (Lv.1) and Helmet (Lv.2) increased by around 10%.
• Spawn rates for Adrenaline Syringes, Energy Drinks, and Painkillers increased by around 50%.
• Bandage spawn rates decreased by around 23%, while First Aid Kits and Med Kits increased by around 150%.
• Spawn rates for Stun Grenades, Molotov Cocktails, Smoke Grenades, and Frag Grenades increased by around 25%.
• Spawn rates for Foregrips and Stocks increased by around 20%.
• Spawn rates for Mountain Bikes increased by around 50%.

Miramar

• Total item quantity increased by around 6%.
• Spawn rates for the Vest (Lv.1) and Helmet (Lv.1) decreased by around 30%, while the Vest (Lv.2) and Vest (Lv.3) increased by around 25%, and the Helmet (Lv.2) increased by around 100%.
• The Backpack (Lv.1) spawn rate decreased by around 6%, while the Backpack (Lv.2) increased by around 25%.
• Spawn rates for Adrenaline Syringes and Energy Drinks increased by around 76%, while Painkillers increased by around 97%.
• First Aid Kit spawn rates increased by around 127%, and Med Kits by around 45%.
• Spawn rates for Stun Grenades, Molotov Cocktails, Smoke Grenades, and Frag Grenades were increased by around 20%.
• Pistol spawn rates were reduced by around 32%.
• The spawn rate for Stocks increased by around 20%.
• Spawn rates for Mountain Bikes increased by around 55%.

World (Paramo Sub-Update)

• Steep cliffs and scenery were added to some mountains near Capaco to keep players from climbing to the peak.
• Additional rocks and cover were added to specific areas like Lab and Atahul.
• Vehicle spawn points were added near Makalpa.
• Additional rock pillars and cover were added to the historic sites near Makalpa.
• A new spiral-shaped well object was added and scattered around Paramo.
• The B.Duck update was removed from Sanhok.

Alongside all of these additions, changes were also made to Training Mode, the Training Match, other maps, and various bug fixes. We expect to see similar changes in the next patch as well, but for now we don't know exactly what those changes will be.
