Rammus Rework: New Build, Runes and Ability Changes

Even as Riot Games keeps adding champions to enrich League of Legends, it also makes sure not to neglect the older ones. Having filled its new-champion quota with Viego and Gwen, Riot Games turned its attention to older champions with equally simple kits. Their first stop was League of Legends' armadillo, Rammus. With new VFX updates and an ultimate rework, here's a brand-new Rammus!

When Is the Rammus Rework Coming?

League of Legends players first experienced the Rammus rework in Wild Rift with patch 2.2. Leroy "Sirhaian" Kevin brought these changes to Rammus on the PC version of League of Legends as well, and worked on a game update that included revisions to Rammus' appearance and kit. There's no announced date yet for Rammus' League of Legends rework. However, since LoL patch 11.8 is starting its PBE cycle, don't be surprised if it lands in the next update, slated for April 14.

What Changed With the Rammus Rework?

• The damage on Rammus' Q ability was reduced.
• Rammus' W ability's duration is extended with every basic attack landed while it's active.
• The stun duration on Rammus' E ability was reduced.
• Rammus' ultimate now hangs in the air for a set duration before landing. The higher his movement speed, the farther he travels through the air. When Rammus uses his ultimate, it creates 4 shockwaves that slow enemies, and opponents caught closest to the center of the ultimate take the highest amount of damage.
• Rammus' ultimate can deal 90% AP damage. It also deals 200% damage to towers.

Since Rammus' ultimate scales with movement speed, it's a good idea to build items that grant movement speed. Getting ability power items will also let you make good use of the 90% AP damage on his ultimate.
