What Is Spotify Wrapped?

The music streaming giant has been releasing year-end Wrapped recaps since 2016, giving users fun and interesting information about everything from songs, albums and podcasts to the genres and artists they listened to from January 1 to October 31. But beyond what you personally listened to, the Wrapped campaign also details what the most-listened-to and most-streamed content on the service was over the year, providing all kinds of information for social media and artist bragging rights. You can access your list from your mobile devices, through a web browser and through the Spotify desktop app. Spotify Wrapped has also inspired some third-party sites to highlight your listening in creative ways, such as Instafest. If you are wondering how to access your Instafest list, you can find out in this article.

When Was the Spotify Wrapped 2022 List Released?

Spotify Wrapped 2022 went live on November 30 this year, although it has sometimes come out in the first week of December too. If you are a Spotify user, you have probably received a teaser email for the 2022 list with a link trying to feed you your top songs of the past year.

How Do You Access Spotify Wrapped?

Access on Your Phone

When Spotify Wrapped lists become available, you will probably be using your smartphone or tablet to access them through the Spotify app (Android, iPhone). Just launch the app, and if you do not see it, just search for it.

If it is the same as in previous years, turn up your sound when it launches and swipe through fun, shareable Instagram Stories-style "cards" showing all your algorithm-based top songs, artists, podcasts, listening stats and what you have been up to. There is a Missed Hits section featuring a selection of 30 songs from last year that the algorithm thinks you will like, binged and more, plus some things you may have missed in the blink of an eye over the year.

For 2022, Spotify added a new "Listening Personality" feature that uses your habits to categorize you into one of 16 "personalities" such as The Specialist, Adventurer, Fanclubber and The Replayer. There is also an "Audio Day" feature that summarizes how your listening preferences changed throughout the day.

After finishing the presentation of the Wrapped 2022 cards, you will have some great extras such as the seemingly endless unique playlists you can access in the app and last year's Your Artists Revealed section, made up of your favorite songs and interviews from artists, and the Blend feature, where you can invite another user to combine your best playlists of the year, good and bad, into a single 2022 playlist for the two of you.

Web Browser or Desktop App

If you are not a Spotify subscriber, you can use your web browser and go to the Spotify Wrapped website to check out broader stats and top things for your country. However, you will not be able to see the cool sliding "cards" presentation. If you are a Spotify subscriber, you can sign in using your Spotify Premium account credentials and see what kept you afloat in 2022.

If you access the service through the Spotify desktop app on your computer, the cards presentation is not available there either. We will have to wait to see whether this is different for 2022. That said, you will still be able to access all the Wrapped 2022 playlists, groups, podcasts, genres and much more that you can share on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and TikTok.
