Team Liquid Says Goodbye to LoL Worlds 2023!

Team Liquid, a North American team, won the second game of the best-of-three series, but a string of mistakes saw them collapse in the third game. Vietnamese representatives GAM Esports capitalized on those mistakes to secure their spot in the 2023 World Championship.

Team Liquid held a small lead in the first game, but ran into GAM's clinical counterattacks, which put Levi and his team in the driver's seat. Liquid struck back in the second game, with their world-champion player making his all-important Kindred pick, allowing them to level the series.

While the first two games went back and forth for LCS fans, the third game was total domination. GAM fed Kiaya's K'Sante and Levi's Wukong, targeting the top side early. Once the two got ahead early, they quickly moved to help their teammates around Summoner's Rift, and it was GAM's dominance across the board from there.

This loss means that Liquid's jungler Pyosik, one of the first players eliminated from the Swiss Stage, will not be able to defend his world championship title. While he, Summit, and CoreJJ tried to survive throughout the game, APA and Yeon couldn't pull it off. Still, since this was their first international appearance, the team deserves congratulations.
