Why Is Trinity Force Special?

Trinity Force is an item for AD Fighters in the top lane or jungle. With the changes and buffs in Patch 11.7, it got the comeback it really needed. TriForce's passive now grants 3 AD, 3 movement speed, and 3 Ability Haste for each Mythic item held. This adds the perfect amount of juicy value for certain champions. But let's get back to that in a second.

A big plus is that Trinity Force's build path is very versatile. Whether you need HP, on-hit abilities, or extra burst damage from attack speed and AD, TriForce has it all. This way, it's possible to optimize and adapt to your current situation in lane.

The second plus is Trinity Force's movement speed bonus after using an ability. It gives you an extra pair of boots for six seconds. Oh, and did we mention the 200% base attack damage proc after that same ability?

Champions Who Should Build Trinity Force

Even though very few champions use Trinity Force, the item triggers a massive power spike on the lucky ones. Mainly, we're talking about champions who need each of the stats above but can't get them to this extent through other items.

Trinity Force is best built on AD-based top lane players who eventually want to play 1v1 in the side lane. Strong split-pushers who can take advantage of empowered auto-attacks are the best champions for this item.

Trinity Force definitely has its place. However, there's strong competition. And that competitor is called Divine Sunderer. It's a better pick for many top lane players. The damage dealt to tanks, meaning your opponents in lane, is huge, and you're also tankier than you'd be with Trinity Force.

Still, you have to give TriForce credit for the fact that the item can really be built so versatilely and doesn't leave much of a weak point in its build path.
