Every resource you need in Valheim can be found in specific biomes. For example, you can get quality wood from the Black Forest, the second biome. Some resources you can't find in biomes need to come from bosses instead. Bosses are also the source of the items you need to progress to the next age. So how many bosses are there in Valheim? Let's take a look.

How Many Bosses Are There in Valheim?

The Valheim Beta version that's currently playable has 5 bosses. Fans have been talking about rumors that 5 more bosses will be added to the game once it officially launches.

Where Is Valheim's First Boss Eikthyr Found? How Do You Beat It? How Do You Summon It?

Valheim boss Eikthyr

Biomes: Mountain

What Does the First Boss Reward?

  • Hard Antler (You need this reward to craft a pickaxe and progress to the next age.)
  • Eikthyr Trophy.
  • Eikthyr's Forsaken Power.

Eikthyr is the first boss you can find in your starting biome. To summon Eikthyr, you need to offer two deer trophies at Eikthyr's altar.

Eikthyr has three different attacks. If you're within its range, it can shoot lightning at you from its antlers. In melee range, it will rear up to unleash the same lightning attack. It also has a melee charge attack with its antlers. You should plan a strategy with your teammates to take the boss down safely.

Despite Eikthyr's size, you can effectively block its attacks with the shield you get early in the game. Make sure you have a bow for ranged hits, but it also helps to bring a melee weapon. For example, a composition of 1 archer and 2 melee fighters is ideal for killing Eikthyr.

After defeating Eikthyr, hang the trophy on the sacrificial stone at your starting point in the world; this will grant you Eikthyr's Forsaken Power, a boost to your stamina while running and jumping.

Where Is Valheim's Second Boss The Elder Found? How Do You Beat It? How Do You Summon It?

Valheim Elder

Biomes: Black Forest

What Does the Second Boss Reward?

  • Swamp key (You'll use this to unlock the dungeons found in the Swamp biome.)
  • The Elder Trophy.
  • The Elder's Forsaken Power.

The Elder is Valheim's second boss. You can find its location by interacting with the rune stones in the Burial Chambers found in the Black Forest.

You can summon The Elder using three Ancient Seeds. Ancient Seeds, meanwhile, drop from Greydwarf brutes and Greydwarf shamans and can also be found by destroying Greydwarf nests. Burning three Ancient Seeds at The Elder's altar in the Black Forest will summon it.

The Elder has three attacks. In melee, it attacks players with an area-of-effect attack that deals damage even if it doesn't hit you directly. It has a ranged attack where it launches vines as projectiles. It can also summon vines from the ground around players, which can give players a hard time.

After defeating Eikthyr, you should be doing a lot of mining and smelting with the pickaxe the game gives you in order to hunt down The Elder. If you've unlocked them, you'll want to come prepared with bronze armor, a quality bow, plenty of fire arrows, and healing potions. Fire damage is the best way to take The Elder down, and you'll likely need around 100 arrows.

You can also try placing campfires in the summoning area, since it can step on a campfire while chasing you and take burn damage. Once it's summoned, use the pillars in the summoning area to block its incoming vine attacks, then step outside to hit it with arrows. Avoid drawing it too deep into the forest, since you might pull in nearby Greydwarfs or trolls.

Note: DON'T EVEN BOTHER IF YOU DON'T HAVE A BOW.

Once The Elder is defeated, placing its reward on the sacrificial stone will grant you a power that increases your wood-cutting speed.

Where Is Valheim's Third Boss Bonemass Found? What Is Its Turkish Name? How Do You Beat It? How Do You Summon It?bonemass valheim

Biomes: Swamp

What Does the Third Boss Reward?

  • Wishbone, used to find hidden treasure chests and silver ore.
  • Bonemass Trophy.
  • Bonemass's Forsaken Power.

Bonemass, known as Kütlekemik in Turkish, is Valheim's third boss and can be found in the Swamp biome. To find its location, interact with the rune stone found in the swamp crypts, which you can access using the swamp key you got from The Elder.

To summon Bonemass at its altar, you'll need to find 10 Withered Bones. You can find Withered Bones in swamp crypts as well.

Bonemass has three attacks. It has a melee attack for close range, and a toxic attack that fills the air and deals serious poison damage if you're caught in it. Its third attack pulls you in and summons Skeletons, Blobs, and Draugr to join the fight.

Even though Bonemass is the game's third boss, it may actually be the toughest boss in the game. Bonemass is quite resistant to every type of damage except blunt damage. Frost arrows, made with the obsidian you'll mine in the snowy regions and the drops from the ice dragons (Drakes) you kill there, will get the job done. Bonemass also heals during the fight, so you need to keep up a constant assault.

Since the poison attack deals a lot of damage, you'll want to bring plenty of poison resistance, so unlock potion crafting and brew yourself a good stock of potions well before you consider taking on this boss.

After defeating Bonemass, placing its reward on the sacrificial stone will grant you a power that increases your resistance to physical damage.

Where Is Valheim's Fourth Boss, the Ice Dragon Moder, Found? How Do You Beat It? How Do You Summon It?

Moder valheimBiome: Mountain

What Does the Fourth Boss Reward?

  • Dragon Tears (unlocks the ability to craft black metal.)
  • Moder Trophy
  • Moder's Forsaken Power

Moder, Valheim's fourth boss, must be summoned from the peak of a mountain in the Mountain biome. To find Moder's location, activate the rune stone found inside the ruined stone towers where Draugr live in the mountains.

To summon Moder, you need to bring three dragon eggs to its altar. Dragon eggs can be found in dragon nests in the mountains. Note that each egg weighs 200 kilos, so it helps to carry them together with friends.

Moder has several attacks. In melee, it attacks with its claws. Its blizzard breath attack severely slows down players' movement and accuracy. It can also fire crystallizing projectiles from its mouth while flying.

It helps to dress warmly against Moder, since it's found in the Mountain biome. Lox and wolf pelts, made from the hides dropped by Lox and wolves you kill in the Plains, will protect you from the cold.

Even though Moder's attacks are very deadly, they're highly predictable, so you can dodge its attacks fairly easily.

When Moder lands, run away as much as you can, and once it starts flying, you can comfortably kill it over time using poison arrows and your best bow.

Placing Moder's Trophy on the sacrificial stone will grant you a power that lets you keep the wind at your back while sailing, no matter which direction you're heading.

Where Is Valheim's Final Boss Yagluth Found? How Do You Beat It? How Do You Summon It?

Valheim Boss Guide Yagluth

Biome: Plains

What Does the Final Boss Reward?

  • Items that aren't useful yet...
  • Yagluth Trophy
  • Yagluth's Forsaken Power

Yagluth, a massive crowned skeleton, is Valheim's fifth and final boss. Yagluth has no lower body, so it crawls along using its hands.

You can find Yagluth's location using the tablets found on the standing stones in the Plains biome. It can be summoned using five Fuling totems. Fuling totems drop from the goblins found in the Plains.

Yagluth has two punch attacks; one deals damage in a wide arc, while the other calls down a meteor shower on the area. Yagluth also has a breath attack that puts out any fires you light.

To take down Yagluth, Valheim's final boss, you'll need plenty of food and potions. You should also equip your character with the strongest weapons and armor available in the game. Since Yagluth moves very slowly, its attacks are predictable. However, dodging the meteor shower attack will be a bit tricky.

As with some of the other bosses, it's best to keep your distance and attack with bows. If you're playing with teammates, one player can pull Yagluth's aggro while the others finish it off comfortably with melee attacks.

Since the game is still in beta, the items Yagluth drops aren't useful yet. But if you keep them in your chests, they may become useful once the game officially launches. Placing Yagluth's reward on the sacrificial stone will grant you a power that reduces damage from elemental attacks like fire, frost, and poison.
